First time I watched was a home tour of the apartment you had on your parents property. Years ago! I remember how excited you were to get the keys for the Brighton apartment. I remember all four cottages you examined before buying your first house. I remember the day the goofy fireplace remodel was removed to reveal the gorgeous 1600 s huge stone fireplace. I could go on.....

I've always loved the cotswolds my grandfather worked for a lord of the Manor as a stable manager in a few places and those 2 places stow and its Bourton on the water. I used to lie down on the the little bridges in Bourton and tickle the trout. Happy birthday maddie.

Great video Maddie, I'm French but a lifetime ago ( 15 years ago actually), I was an aupair in the Cotswolds (I took care of two kids in a town called Chipping Campden) and these footages remind me so much of my time there so thank you for the virtual time machine!!

We moved from south Devon to Warwick 2 years ago, it is very different but we love it, we have the Cotswolds on our doorstep and Warwick itself is fantastic. Everyone thought we were mad to move from the West Country to here but we couldn’t be happier. If you get a chance go to Broadway, you’ll get overwhelmed by the beauty of it all.

Happy Birthday. So lovely to see the cotswolds pretty villages. Your conversation about tourist places is exactly how my husband and I feel. We are British living out in very rural northern Italy for the last 8 years and have been able to see Italian life away from the tourist routes. We visited Florence once and never again. The pretty cottage your staying in was in Country Living many seasons ago and I loved the corrugated iron wall. Enjoy you stay.

Daylesford is so expensive, coming from Devon, where the farm shops are very reasonably priced, I was so shocked by Daylesford. Also on the day we visited, we were constantly jostled by influencers, talking loudly and walking in front of you. It was just after The Millen Gordens had vlogged from there. We’ve only visited once and wouldn’t go again.

Yes Daylesford can be expensive but definitely not everything. It obviously caters to people who might also have bigger budgets but as a local, I enjoy the experience and inspiration it provides and am fortunate to be able to visit regularly. I have a very limited budget these days but I do prioritise quality and beauty when I can. Most visits I don’t even buy anything. I am a member of their book group which meets once a month and sometimes meet a friend for a coffee. I am always expecting to see influencers but I haven’t seen any as yet but I am sure they are there. I don’t go on weekends so maybe that explains their absence? I have been given a gift for a workshop there on my birthday next month.

I love the Cotswolds and was lucky enough to visit Burton on the Water and a few other place when I stayed in a thatched roof cottage for a week in Chipping Camden, with my London born husband and his sister we were staying with in Southend on Sea.

It looks like you might be in Bibury. My husband and I spent some time there when we were younger on a visit home from Canada to see family and have a little vacation in the Cotswold's. Sadly he died in 2013 after being together for 52 years. You are making memories that will stay with you.

Thanks for sharing this. I live about 14 miles from Cirencester so it’s literally on my doorstep. I really should go to all these places. I get what you mean with the anxiety around being around too many people. I wouldn’t advise visiting in the summer as you wouldn’t be able to move !!!! Mid week is a good idea to visit 👍😊

Totally know what you mean about the tourist thing in the Cotswolds. I too felt like you when we visited Bourton on the Water and didn’t stay long. Then we went to the village where they filmed Stardust and that was worse! So pretty though but we didn’t feel as though it was as authentic as we had hoped.

Somewhere deep in my photos stash is a picture of that 'manor house' - even to this day I have no clue what it is! I will read the comments to see if anyone knows. We had a lovely 3 day break there about 15 years ago, and instantly recognised the little area where you stayed, we had a cottage right on that doorstep somewhere! It truly is a gorgeous part of England 🙂

Happy birthday, Maddie! About drinking wine/tea with invisalign, I think the only issue is that it can dye your aligners (that's what my dentist said to me) but if you are just wearing them for a week, who cares! I used to drink tea all the time with them and it was okay.

The other thing is that the tea can get trapped behind the aligners and cause acid wear and staining of your teeth and tooth sensitivity. My dentist basically said don't do it, but also it's fine from time to time if you don't mind the staining of the aligners, but if you start feeling any kind of sensitivity, stop. I tend to drink tea through a short stainless steel cocktail straw when I'm wearing mine (have to let the tea cool down a little to do this).
