I stayed in the officetel right across the main road for 3 months back in March and I knew IMMEDIATELY what house this was when I saw your thumbnail! I love it there! (totally wondered what was behind that cute door. :) Txs for the tour!)

Haha you’re not the only one that was curious. So many times I walk out the door and someone asks me “what’s behind that door?” And I’m awkwardly like uh… a house. 😂

Love the inviting minty colored wooden shutters and door, and brick wall on the outside. I was so looking forward to seeing the interior design of the cute house but was sorely disappointed. The landlord sure has quirky taste 😆 The house lacks sunlight cause you can't really open all the windows without curious passerby peeping in. As someone who loves interior design and decorating, I see so much potential in this cute little house.

Haha yeah it’s very specific not for everyone’s tastes. The alley is actually really private. One side is blocked off and used for storage so no one walk by. The other side is deceptively high up so the window is too high up for people to look in.

Hello David and Kim I loved this house completely. Functional, cozy, neat, and beautiful. You guys just decorate this house with love and care, and live with love. Every house teaches something, gives something. Being in Defense Services my personal experience is that we make every house a home with our love and care with every posting. So I understand it completely😊. Love from India❤😊

Some weird negative comments - that is very cheap for a HOUSE in an expensive city like Seoul.
@TravelWithNala

It’s ok. Almost every Seoul house tour I’ve seen on YT are young 20s single people living in goshiwons or officetels for much cheaper so I think people aren’t used the price difference. I’m excited to show the apartment we got in Da Nang though which is much much nicer and cheaper 😂

Thank you for the vlog and tour of the neighborhood. My husband and I will be staying in Korea for an extended stay and will be bringing our small puppy. Is there a Korean app that you use to find dog-friendly airbnb accommodations? Thank you in advance.
@TravelWithNala
@TravelWithNala 5 ай бұрын
Airbnb has a pet filter and about 10-15% of the listing in Korea are pet friendly. Small dogs are easy because you can carry them in a carrier in the subway but kakao T (Korea’s Uber) also had a pet taxi option that you can schedule in advance.
@robinsjoblom
@robinsjoblom 5 ай бұрын
@@TravelWithNala Thank you for the info. We do use the pet filter on airbnb here in the States. But I heard there is a Korean app that is similar to the Bring Fido app in which you can filter restaurants, destinations (like parks, National Parks), and hotels. The app is in Korean. I was hoping that you knew the name of that app. But it's good to know that the pet filter on airbnb app works well in Korea. By the way, Nala is beautiful.
@TravelWithNala
@TravelWithNala 5 ай бұрын
@@robinsjoblom ah so you can use Kakao Maps or NAVER Maps. Both are the Korean version of Google Maps. They both have filters for pets allowed. In the younger hip neighborhoods you’ll be surprised how many cafes and shops have big signs outside that say “pets welcome”. In places like Gangnam ppl will look at you like you’re crazy. Regardless of what it says on the map I always walk in first and ask if it’s ok to bring a dog in.
@robinsjoblom
@robinsjoblom 5 ай бұрын
@@TravelWithNala I just found the app I was hoping you used in Korea and wondering about your experience. It's 반려생활 . You might have more options when using it just because it's Korean specific.
@TravelWithNala
@TravelWithNala 5 ай бұрын
@@robinsjoblom I’ve never heard of not personally but NAVER Maps is the Google of Korea and it’s the main app everyone uses in Korea so it will be the most comprehensive.

Such cute little house, the interior and its vibe look like those you’d see in kdramas. With so many restos nearby, is the area very noisy? I personally would not choose to live here because of the vibe of the streets (from what you show in the video here) but being in 용산 and close to 이태원 and 한남동, I can see why this could be attractive to some.
@TravelWithNala
@TravelWithNala 5 ай бұрын
It’s surprisingly quite quiet and peaceful. This is not a popular nightlife spot so most of the restaurants actually close early. Most of the drinking spots here are wine bars or Japanese style drinking houses, much calmer vibe. The fun rowdy Korean kkq spots are a block away on the Main Street and the noise doesn’t reach us.

I don't have experience in Japan yet but I'm sure it's similar to Korea where you can specify "western style shower" and more and more places are starting to switch over to what we're used to. Good luck! I still have to mentally prepare myself each time before going in for a shower.

Good air conditioning is very important for Nala but she is a weird dog she likes sunbathing all day. We have to force her to come inside where it’s cool. 1700 is a lot but you will always pay more for short term leases. The flexibility is what’s important to us as travelers

Now I know why there is a traffic barricade in front of your house. Works better than a cone. Putting gold fish in there is beyond absurd. I have a roughly a 1200 sq ft Koi pond outside with natural rock, waterfull and the works. Maybe he was thinking of putting bettas.
@TravelWithNala

Haha yeah every other house has a cone that’s says “no parking” on it. If we move the barricade for 2 seconds someone will park there and block the door. Wow 1200 sqft pond is amazing! I’m not a fan of sitting water indoors because of mosquitos

I actually prefer Korean style wet bathrooms because you can literally wash everything with soap/cleaner and water. Western bathrooms we need to keep using cleaner and wipe with everything our naked eyes cannot see left on the surface… It’s like forever wiping your ass with wipe and never soap and water bath.. gross
