Good job Mama. She made that like butter for you. I ordered the ProPride 3P yesterday. I’m not excited to install or to have any hitching problems but I am excited about keeping myself and family safe. Thanks for the video.

I am pulling a 9000 lb. Toy Hauler with the Pro Pride using a 2019 F150 3.5 eco-boost. No more sway and white knuckles. This hitch really works . The only negative that I have ever heard is the cost but considering how much I have invested already(not to mention my family) it is a small price to pay for peace of mind.

How are your payload #'s with the toy hauler hitched up? Air suspension?
@larrymattox24713 жыл бұрын
I have a new toy hauler now and it weights 6700 dry. I haul a razor xp4 about 1900 lb. plus a few more hundred pounds of miscellaneous stuff. No air suspension just the standard tow package from Ford. Still no sway.

I'm glad you mentioned the pro backup system. I have a 21 F350 and it also wouldn't work. I assumed it was because it was out of range but wasn't sure. That answers that question! Thanks

Thanks for recording this. It was helpful. We are new to towing and have our first RV. I never understood why people would say to buy a more capable tow vehicle to solve trailer sway. It doesn’t make sense. Makes more sense to address what causes the sway and that’s the physics around the pivot point of the trailer connection to the tow vehicle. Hopefully they can increase the production volumes and bring costs down so we can see this type of hitch become more common.

This system works great for trailer sway, I was using a yukon denali to tow a roo 23fk. The yukon has plenty of power it just didn't feel very planted. Bought a 3500 chevy and unless I'm going over a bump I don't know trailer is there.
@eroblesmay743 жыл бұрын
@@JT-lu8vt Well I guess that's the difference between purpose built and a feature capability. Night and day. I just don't have a need for a 3500 series truck otherwise.

I also use the level mate pro that is outstanding. You can save the hitch height when unhooking and recall when hitching up. Love the LMP. Also helps me level the trailer from side to side when first sitting up at the site. Great video!!!! I hit the hitch perfectly 98% of the time with no help. I use the zoom a lot on the hitch camera.
@RickyyBobbyy-s8l2 жыл бұрын
I use 2 circular level pucks. One on the hitch and one on the truck square. I also put a small piece of white tape in the center of both components to see better on the camera. When I get within a couple inches to I get out an adjust the hitch on the trailer to match the truck. Where the bubble is on the truck , I match the trailer. It doesn’t need to be level , just match the truck. Had this hitch for 8 years. Will never switch. I also have the orange yard attachment for really hard camp spots. I usually hook up by myself and get it on the first try. When in hooking, while raising the tongue watch for the hitch on the truck to move slightly. It should slide right out. If your truck and trailer happen to be straight , no adjust need for the hitch, you can get a straight stinger from Propride. Had mine painted red. Lighter and brighter.

I also jack tongue up after I get the stinger in before I raise the weight bars. Saves the torque from the driver possibly getting away from me or torquing my wrist.

Outsmarting a 3p hitch is not all that difficult. 17 yrs ago when we got the Hensley Arrow we were a bit apprehensive. After about 4 trips our procedure was finalized and it's been smooth Streaming ever since. PPP hitches (Hensley Arrow & ProPride) may be expensive but the piece of mind and safety are well worth it for this user.

Awesome video, I am going up from a 7k TT to a 12k Toy Hauler. I was hesitant about this hitch but now I'm more comfortable about what hooking up will be like.

I don’t know if it’s required or not, but I’ve had mine for almost 3 years now and I’ve always kept the stinger greased. It seems to help it slide in better especially when it’s just a bit off. But because it is greased, when I put it away, I have to cover the stinger with a plastic grocery bag so it doesn’t make a mess. It has been the best investment for towing my trailer.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I recently got mine shipped to me and will be installing soon. Good to know about the learning curve and the 3 - 4 times will help me be more patient as I get experience. I have ordered the reflective tape and might go with some of your other tips & tricks.

Great video! Just ordered my pro-pride 3P hitch for my 2016 f150 with the 5.0. We tow a 24 ft Bullet through the Columbia river gorge on Hwy 84 quite often and the sway from trucks and strong wing is very nerve racking! Looking forward to installing this hitch. Don’t know if you know this, but on the ford backup camera, if you push the + in the upper left of the screen, it will give a very closeup view of your hitch as you backup.

Thank you for posting this video. I have a 2020 f150 with the 3.5 twin turbo and a Grand Design 2400bh. Semi trucks and any amount of wind give me the fits. Any speed above 63 and I see the rear of the trailer start to wobble. I have ordered a propride and your video makes me think I made the right decision in ordering the hitch instead of buying a bigger truck.

Hey Chris. I have a 2018 F-150 and a 30 foot toyhauler with a 13' inflatable boat, motor and trailer. Fully loaded, 10,000 lbs. ProPride hitch is a lifesaver, literally.

I have the same truck and a GD 22RBE. Same results at 63+ speed, and any crosswind turns it into a big sail. How did the PP work out for you? I'd rather sell the trailer before I part with my truck.

Great video , I noticed you didn't raise the jack to adjust weight distribution. I'm going to try it 1 less step.
@normangregory80123 жыл бұрын
If you go to time 14:30 you will see we are adjusting the weight distribution using our drill. Since we have the orange markers (14:42) set to where our trailer is "balanced" it makes it a very quick process. The bars do need to be unloaded to disconnect the trailer.
@normangregory80123 жыл бұрын
Raising the trailer jack can done anytime once the "stinger" has been locked in place. We often do it after adjusting the bar jacks as there is less load to lift with the drill.
@ptenner56 Жыл бұрын
Enjoyed the video. The only thing that concerned me was your wife standing in between the truck and the trailer rather than off to the side as you were backing up. A slip of the foot off the brake and onto the gas pedal could have tragic consequences.

Why is the stinger of the pro pride hitch yellow
@normangregory801212 күн бұрын
We often leave the stinger attached to the truck while travelling including when the trailer is not connected. We painted the stinger yellow to make it more visible and (hopefully) keep it from hitting shins when we and others walk by (so far it seems to have worked).

This is the hitch you buy when you attempt to pull with a half ton thinking the weight ratings are actually true. Half tons are great up until about 5k trailer weight.
@normangregory8012 Жыл бұрын
If you watch the video its pretty clear that we made a choice to keep our smaller pickup for a number of reasons. The F150 has hauled larger trailers for a good part of its 75000 mile life without a glitch including over many mountain ranges and deserts. If you feel a need to try to impress folks that bigger is better (or if you or a large truck salesperson) please take your comments elsewhere..
