Oh, I'm so glad you got to see wild horses. I was wondering if you'd gotten to see any on your way while you were still in the US. We have them in California and Nevada and sometimes a whole huge herd will run alongside (or cross in front of) your vehicle while traveling. They're amazing to see. And, "Little wins make one big win for the day", I love that.

Hi Chesca and Ben. Of course I've loved the glimpse of Mexico where I have never been. I'm with Ben, hot and spicy is not for me! The scenery has been astonishing and again so different than where you have traveled this trip. Do you follow Eamon and Bec on KZbin? Are you friends? I think that they are in Baja now , not sure exactly where but at a lovely beach campground right on the beach and it doesn't look awfully crowded and very beautiful. Maybe you will meet up. Your Spanish sounds beautiful ! I don'y speak it but to me you sound like pros🤣 May you enjoy the next days of the trip. See you next week. Stay safe 💓 Ellen

You probably saw that Chris and Marianne went through the same thing at the border with their paperwork and they had to redo it as well. Live and learn! Ahh, the desert, love it, it can grow on you. So nice to have the ocean on one side of you and the desert on the other. As the tv commercial use to say, everything tastes better when it sits on a Ritz. Enjoy thos Ritz crackers Ben. That was so funny seeing Scout stand up like that, she must have really strong hindquarters. How's Rosie doing these days? Well all of you have a great time now exploring Baja, I want to go this next winter. Adios por ahora, diviertete.

Yeah it’s a nightmare. We had our online receipt, proof of purchase, everything. The guy didn’t even want to look at what we had. I don’t think it was a scam - we didn’t pay him directly and instead went to another office attached to the bank where we paid by card with receipts and everything. But he didn’t seem to even want to understand the online FMM. He had no computer or anything for starters 😂

Yep Europe just doesn't do Mexican food at all! It's one of the things we're most looking forward to here. Congratulations on the move. 18 years is a long time to spend somewhere, bet it's going to feel bittersweet moving onto somewhere new. When do you move to the Philippines? Wishing you all the best with the move 🌟

Hey guys, hope you’re all well. The mountain drive looks great! Yay Mexico 🇲🇽.. that campsite is nice to look at too! Hoping that your chip is going to be ok, and your Spanish was great. I would love to sign up to Busuu but I don’t think they have Lithuanian 🇱🇹 which I’m still learning. I’m glad the border documents were eventually sorted. I guess vineyard owners don’t wine 🍷 😂.. Mexico has many colours, the buildings look great. And yes Ben I agree I couldn’t do spice I melt! Love Ritz biscuits too! Wow that parkup is great! I don’t know about you but I love the sound of the sea 🌊. And what a coincidence meeting a British person! Well done to him for making that massive journey too! The Spanish is so amazing! What an amazing road trip! I would love to do this! Talking about breaking down, my camper vans alternator broke yesterday! I need an uprated one! If I had a cactus 🌵 I would nickname it spike 😂. Crack crisps 😂😂 and creepy faced pancakes.. 😂😂 . The roads have definitely got worse later on.. can’t wait to see more, see you next week guys!

Oh shit! That sucks about your alternator. I think I saw a message on IG, will get Ben to reply! Hope you're having a lovely weekend Mark 💕 xx

They were correct, you only need TIP if you cross to mainland but I think you said you can also get it in the port, I assume you meant La Paz, that is incorrect, next time you enter Mexico after you go to Alaska make sure you get the TIP at the border otherwise you will have to drive back to the border. BTW, I did the trip to Ushuaia in 2018 by motorcycle and it was amazing. I'm enjoying your trip and can't wait for you to go to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska which I also did on my motorcycle 🏍️
@OverlandingSophia
@OverlandingSophia 2 жыл бұрын
Yes we've since heard this too! When we come back to Mexico we'll be crossing via mainland (I think) so we won't be going down to La Paz anyway. Think the trip will really feel like it's starting when we head to Alaska, which will probably bring back more than a few memories for you! What would you say were the top 3 highlights from your trip?
@Georgesadventure
@Georgesadventure 2 жыл бұрын
@@OverlandingSophia definitely the Dalton and the desolation of those last 400 miles before you reach Prudhoe Bay. Make sure you stop in Valdez and 100 percent go visit Homer, scenery is amazing. Also go across the Denali highway (not a highway BTW) it has stunning scenery

@OverlandingSophia
@OverlandingSophia 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! We did explain at the beginning of the trip but it was a while ago! We'll explain again properly in the next video too as it's probably confusing for anyone who doesn't know! We want to do the full Pan American highway, which officially begins in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. We began this trip quite late and didn't arrive in Canada until August, which was too late to reach Alaska with the weather windows. So rather than wait in the UK until the spring, we decided to do the southern USA and Baja for the winter. If we continued down to South America now we'll only have completed half of the Pan American. So this spring, we'll drive up to Alaska, and by the end of the summer we'll be heading back into mainland Mexico and continuing south indefinitely. Hope that makes more sense now 🤗 💕

Sorry to see you are skipping Vancouver B.C. the Pacific coast is the crown jewel of North America from San Francisco to Vancouver the I-5 /BC99 route is by far the better choice than the desolate I-15 route which is nothing more than a glorified truck route a.k.a. the canamex truckway , you may want to re think that portion of the trip as the travel times are similar
@OverlandingSophia
@OverlandingSophia 2 жыл бұрын
Don’t worry, that red line was just a directional line showing our general route, absolutely not the actual route we’re taking. There’s no way we’re missing Vancouver. Our rough plan is to go up through Arizona and Utah and then back down the PCH - so we spend spring in the desert and summer on the coast.

Totally agree that this kind of thing is rife! But to give credit where it’s due, we didn’t pay the immigration guy directly. We had to go to another official office which is actually part of the bank and pay by card there. We got official receipts so in this case it was legit, we didn’t pay cash to the officer. But no doubt it happens.
