I was on the Carnival Legend in 2011 well before its refit. I sailed out of Tampa. It was my first time being on a large Carnival ship. It was enjoyable however I did catch a norovirius three days in. Didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to be locked in my room.

Luckily we were all OK on our cruise. Back in 2011 it was large, but compared to the ships these days, it's relatively small. It's still in good shape for an older ship.

The older Carnival ships were decorated by an artist named Farcus. All his ships are a bit.... unique. I like it but many people do not. They used him for the ships for over a dozen ships, but now all new ships are very modern and sleek if you like that. Also, keep in mind this is a small ship - bigger ships have multiple restaurants that are free as well as some upcharge restaurants. We enjoy them all. You must go out of Galveston on the Jubilee.... it will blow your mind. Some the cruise director Kyndall is a ball of fire! You should do a youtube search on her. No kidding.

You should go to Graceland and compare it to The Porthcawl Elvis Festival.

We have been to Graceland (back in 2016). There were far less drunk Elvis' there!

The ship class the Legend belongs to has Carnival's highest passenger to space ratio. Just for comparison, the Legend is about 20,000 gross tons larger than Carnival's next smallest ship class, however it only carries about 200 passengers more. Additionally, this platform was used across multiple Carnival brands including Cunard, Holland America, and Costa.

FYI - Galveston was hit by Hurricane Beryl on July 8, 2024, but probably recovered by now.

I spent a few weeks cruising with Carnival on both the East and West coasts of the USA last year, and found the Carnival product to be strong, but VERY different to what I've seen on any other ship. I wasn't sure how their product would fit with a UK cruise, so have been really interested to hear your summary. Out of curiosity, did you find that most of the passengers were British, or more American?

It was definitely a very different experience to a UK based cruise. It was at least 95% American onboard, we were surprised at this because of the Dover departure port.

you probably mean pig and anchor. thats not on all carnival ships. you can compare the ships on their website to see which ones have it. the legend doesn’t have the extras-italian, asian fusion , pig and anchor, havana bar, etc

Hello, Marcus and Mel. Love your Videos. We Did Carnival (Pride) last October, from Cittivecgeeci (ROME) to Greece , Athens, Santorini, Enjoyed the holiday, Did a lot of Sunbathing/Sight Seeing. The Ship was ok, but not a Big "Party" person. Have you done, Royal Caribbean??? We Did Anthem of the Seas, in April/May on a Transatlantic, had a Brilliant Time on there.
