The nanny for our 9 children arrived and we don't really know what we are doing or what to have her do. We head out for a day at the NY Metropolitan Museum and bring her along to help. Will we be too much for her? Is being a nanny to 9 kids the hardest job on earth? Come along and find out!

I'm surprised of all the comments about people feeling bad for Sarah. They have given her an amazing opportunity to travel the world, explore new places and get paid on top of it. I would totally do that for free! She's lucky in my opinion!

I think people feel this way because they hate seeing kids suffering in any way shape or form and going through what she is going through with her body, because they are kids..... its awesome that she was adopted and has a great family that has shown her many beautiful places she will never forget. :) Sarah is blessed thats for sure :) It shows that she is well cared for and loved.

I'm sure this family will make Sarah feel a part of the family, we see 10 min. Of the day and in that they are still explaining to us who Sarah is. " The Nanny " Let's be kind and not judge.

Be prepared for stares in Europe. Large families are very rare here, especially the kind with so many adopted kids. Also, Germans are natural starers. They stare no matter what.

lol yup. Be prepared that they will ask questions like "why on earth do you have that many children?" and "why didn't you adopt children that look like you?" I'm adopting from Bulgaria and they are so racist there no one wanted to adopt my son because he's of Roma descent. But.. he's white.. and looks like pretty much all other Bulgarians lol.

that is SO false. I don't know in what forgotten village you live, or what kinda people you attract, but in Europe in general, people are open-minded and will respect them for what they're doing. Germans are cool, generalization and stereotypes are gross. Pootin why would you freak them out like that, they probably have so many things to think about now, you don't wanna add another reason to be stressed there. They're gonna have an AMAZING time in Europe! love love

Sarah will find her place! She's bright and interested in the children. Mike and Megan seem so glad to have her. It's all the transition that they are getting use to. I see her as a great fit for the family and will be comfortable as time goes on. She's needed due to all the different ages. She may not get to see things that Mike and Megan get to go to but she's not there necessarily for the vacation but to help out the family. Just give it time!!!!

You really lucked out. It's usually so much warmer in NY this time of year... make sure to give Sarah time off. I worked as a Nanny in college, and I was working almost 7 days a week with my school, then the kids school, activities, play dates, etc. it can be overwhelming. And my favorite thing to do on my time off was to just curl up in bed with my journal or a book. Have you been to Madame Tussaud's? That is definitely a fun trip. Plus the Bronx Zoo has the new treetop adventure!

For those of you who love to try various food options, there is a weekly food market called the Smorgasburg located at the Brooklyn Bridge Park (an amazing park in itself). Food options aren't that expensive & it'll give the kids a chance to expand their gastronomic horizon. You should go in the morning before it gets crazy.

Just to warn you, in England people stare a lot! It's very rare to find large families especially multiethnic ones! Don't be discouraged though, most English are extremely nice and caring! People may also stare at your clothes and the things you do, that's because over here things are very different to in the USA, in the things people wear to the way people act! I can't wait for you to experience our British culture and ways of life.

My family had a nanny for my brother at a time when my grandparents were much older and harder for them to be able to help with with their young grandchild at age 1-3. She was not just a nanny to my brother but became a very close family friend. I always see her soemtimes on mothers day new years if she joins us and always on my brother's birthday. What an amazing person to know. I hope she can fit right in and be apart of the family for a long time even after she is no is not working with them any more. The babysitter my brother had reamined friends with our family even after she was not needed any more.

A good majority of you guys don't have any idea what you're talking about. As a professional nanny, I want to be called "the nanny", nothing more, nothing less. A nanny is what she is and I'm sure she's not bothered by being referred to as a nanny- that's her job, it's what she's there to do. Just let them do what they want and let their nanny speak for herself.

Rule #1 in train stations - Dont touch ANYTHING.... Rule #2 in train stations - Dont Sit anywhere with open skin, like really short skirts or short jeans, read Rule #1 Rule #3 in train stations - Dont stand near tracks. - lately crazy people have been pushing other people onto tracks, specially when trains are coming. ------- Place kids up against the wall, and tell them not to move, until train has arrived and have come to a complete stop (parents stand next to your kids & be wary of ppl walking next to them). Rule #4 in train stations - Dont talk to strangers, unless its absolutely necessary. Rule #5 in train stations - While riding the train, try not to touch posts or railings and if you must, make sure you have planty of hand sanitizers and immediately use it when exiting the train and walking outside. People wipe their noses and cough into their hands, pick their noses and then touch posts and railings (yuk)..... Place kids on lap and make sure they dont touch anything. at night plenty of homeless people sleep on the train along with urinating, puking and even spilling bodily fluids of many kinds all over within the trains. Rule #6 in trains stations - While riding the train, if you drop something on the floor, DO NOT pick it up. just count it as a loss (unless its a phone or something really expensive). ------ Immediately use clorox wipes and hand sanitizer if you drop something on the floor. if you drop a bib, water bottle, food, a baby's pacifier. just count it as a loss. and move on.. ------ Dont let kids touch or sit on the floor. Thats a HUGE No No in NYC. - Always always always have clorox handy wipes and hand sanitizer within your bag with every person. If you are not sure of any rules, Re-Read rule #1.
