It’s impressive to see Lenny wearing a life vest with the same indifference of a kid wearing sneakers. My point is that you stress safety in a way that for Lenny seams as normal as eating Cheerios. Kudos to parents who stress fun in the same breath as being safe!

He is leaps and bounds beyond most kids his age, must have something to do with growing up on a boat. The reason he wants to become a pirate is apparent, though, he doesn't like that red line! As a child who grew up on a 75ft timber schooner in the south pacific and was a qualified deck hand as my first job, I am so happy to see you doing this. My kids are now grown up, I'm 45 and I fully intend on doing this again. If you ever need extra crew - I can clean, babysit and my cooking is bloody amazing, let me know, I will come and join you!

Isn't one of the best ways to keep your eyes on the horizon (like Elayna was by steering). If your body motion does not match your visual view you can become sick.

The first year I spent a lot of time on boats I got sick a number of times. Since then, not once (and that's 30 years ago). It does seem to be something your body learns and you just get used to after a while...

I still get very seasick at times evem after 3 years sailing and Atlantic crossing. The only thing that helps me is helming!
