Ready to give the Yarra a try? In this video we do our first paddle up the Yarra River, starting at the very accessible Point Park Crescent, Docklands. In this video we launch our boards from Point Park Crescent Docklands, Melbourne, Australia
About the Yarra River
In this video we paddle on the lower stretches of the river, where the city of Melbourne was established in 1835. From its source in the Yarra Ranges, the Yarra flows 242 kilometres (150 mi) west through the Yarra Valley which opens out into plains as it winds its way through Greater Melbourne before emptying into Hobsons Bay in northernmost Port Phillip.
The river has been a major food source and meeting place for Indigenous Australians for thousands of years. We would like to recognise the continuous and deep connection to Country, of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the first peoples of this nation.
We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of this land, sea and sky, Wurundjeri-willam people of the Kulin Nation. We pay tribute to the Elders past and present and respect the collective ancestry that has brought us all here today.

About Us:
We’ve been using our stand up paddleboards for just over a year now and we are totally addicted! In this channel we share with you our journey as we answer all the questions we have had as beginners to the world of stand up paddling.
This video is part of our ‘locations’ playlist, where we keep all of our videos of the various locations we have tried across Melbourne and Victoria. Eventually we hope to head interstate and overseas.
Launch Location:
1 Point Park Crescent, Docklands 3008 | View Map
Point Park Crescent is just off Lorimer Street. There’s plenty of parking here. We launched our boards just off River Esplanade, less than 50 metres from the car park.
For this paddle we joined the group from SUP Melbourne: / sup.melbourne
