so this is basically Floor Jansen's day job doing mind blowing covers as well as being a vocal coach. you should see her doing her night job as the third and current lead singer of the symphonic metal band Nightwish. Ghost Love Score from their 2013 concert at Waken Open Air in Germany is a good place to start for Nightwish. It should be noted that Floor had only been with the band about 10 months by the time of that concert.

Did you say this is the first time you've EVER heard Floor sing??? I'm 40 and have listened to all music my whole life and found her only a year ago and she by far the best female front of any band ever! If you add men I think she's a top 3 of ALL TIME.. Her singing skills are extremely versatile and damn near perfect and her stage presence is unparalleled to almost everyone in history!!! This is not Floor's natural environment - she is not a pop singer - but did this one to honor the Beste Zangers show, which she revolutionized in 2019. She was invited to attend this years TV-show of the European song contest - she couldn't due to her recovering from surgery - so she send this one. Floor will blow you musical minds - she is an incredible singer with breath- & voice techniques beyond belief. A good place to start is Ghost love Score, Wacken 2013 concert - this is Symphonic Metal - the merge of symphony and metal music, which only the top of the top of musicians, composers and singers can do - and Nightwish are the undisputed nr 1in that genre. Deep deep poetic lyrics, phenomenal tight music, never overdone - and then Floor using all her powers doing anything from operatic to growl - she is a vocal athlete and acrobat like very few others. Floor Jansen is the third and present singer of the Symphonic Metal band Nightwish and widely considered as the best and most versatile female singer of our time. As I am a Flooraholic from Utrecht, The Netherlands, here is some background information on our Dutch Valkyrie Queen. She joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. My favourite song is 'Energize Me'. They made a very beautiful music video out of this. 'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song, such as from full operatic to serious growls in seconds. The songs 'Disdain' and 'Wild Card' are good examples. September 2012 came the call from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the American Tour as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour ('Please learn the setlist in 48 hours'). The lyrics of the songs of Nightwish are very poetic and the music as a whole is challenging, but Floor pulled it off and she stayed for the whole world tour, culminating in the iconic Wacken 2013 Open Air festival. It was obvious that the combination Nightwish and Floor Jansen was made in Walhalla, so she became a permanent member of the band in 2013 as the relationship with Annette and the band was strained even before she became ill. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp' for a couple of years, but it became clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so Revamp disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died' is a must see. Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on KZbin. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe, watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa'. And to see her in full opera mode watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered KZbin in the last year and uploaded many interesting videos on her channel. I dont know. Shes good, really good. But most VERSATILE? I never heard her singing other kinds of songs than popsongs or Nigthwish-a-lised (or Floor-alised) songs. But hey: I dont mind: this is great:-)
