Our First Time Selling At The Farmer’s Market - How Much Did We Make?

I’ve been around farming my entire life and I’ve never had a booth at the farmer’s market, until now. For the first time we decided to take the plunge and set up a booth to try to grow the customer base for our direct to consumer, small scale farm. How much money did we make? Was it worth it? Do I have any practical advice for others that are new to farming or thinking about joining their local farmers market?

😊Great job 👍 I remember I made $ 300 in my first farmer market. All my customers B to B and B to C growing from farmer market.

I think I made $75 my first market. I now clear $400 on the weekly in peak season. You will build a large customer base from markets. They will come by during the week and buy more stuff if you let them. Farmers Markets are $$$$ makers.

Hey buddy! Wishing you much success! In business classes they said to try to make your product or setup as unique as possible to differentiate you from the other sellers. Even if you don’t sell anything, you can look and see what other people are doing and how they are doing it, so you are gaining something no matter what. Also, this lets you see where the competition is for products and evaluate if this market is the right place to sell whatever.
