They are called the 3 storms and along with Lo Pan were inspirations for 2 characters of Mortal Kombat: Raiden & Stang Tsung ( hope I spelled it right ).

@@raphaelperry8159 1: raiden is a shinto god, from japan, not china. good try anyways. hes the source of the name but he doesnt look anything like raiden from MK. 2: this has been discussed in interviews. raiden from MKs design is DIRECTLY inspired by the three storms. theres no room for discussion of a known fact.

This is my favorite movie. You know, the greatest part of it is that Jack Burton is not the hero of the movie. Jack is actually bumbling sidekick to the real hero, his friend Wang Chi. This fact confused the studio who wanted to make Jack appear more heroic so they had director/writer John Carpenter add the scene with Egg Shen and the lawyer.
@thatreactionguy10584 жыл бұрын
I really loved the movie! It was so funny and stupid at the same time, that's my kind of movie.
@MrFarnanonical3 жыл бұрын
Jack is the protaganist of the film but he's in someone elses story, not really the bumbling sidekick, Wang is definitely the hero but Jack is the main character, he's the outsider that needs everything explained to him for our benefit. It's done really well, it could have easily been a great white savior story. (which can be fine too, but this film was doing something that isn't done very often). Still though, Jack is defintiely heroic. He's the one that kills Lo Pan afterall and saves Grace. He doesn't hesistate to go in to rescue Maio Yin, even after he witnessed a "gang war" or hostile supernatural beings, he even interupts Wang as he asks for his help tell him that he will help. After being captured and escaping, he then goes back into the fray a third time, willingly. You're right, Wang Chi is definitely the hero, but i think it's a lot more complicated than just saying he's the "bumbling sidekick" because he is the main protaganist.

One of my top 3 movies; it is so much the epitome of the anti-hero in Burton, the unsung hero of Wang, and the crazy of everything else. I consider this Carpenter's high water mark. "You were not put on this earth to 'get It' mister Burton."

Jack Burton is playing the classic, cheesy, 80s action hero. The problem is, he's not actually the hero...;)

That’s my favorite part, it’s told from the POV of someone who is not only an outsider (much like the audience) but from the sidekick who doesn’t think he’s the sidekick. Jack is still a badass character though.

"'I'm here to deliver fun content to make you smile, laugh, and just to enjoy!"I have one suggestion to accomplish exactly that! The name is "Hot Fuzz" by Edgar Wright. It's a brilliant comedy with buddy movie, action, thriller, detective and even drama elements. The script is very tight, the humor flies by quite rapidly, and the actors are making the most out of their characters (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are leads, but the less important characters feature Academy Award winners).

Fun fact the hairy demon actually has a name and it is Pete. John Carpenter wrote a comic book series called " Old man Jack" where Jack roams whats left of the world in his truck with his best pal Pete. Also despite what people say Jack is the hero he did kill Lopan after all something Egg could not even do himself. BTILC super fan here it is my #1 fav all time movie.

Actually, Mortal Kombat did rip-off Shang Tsun and Raiden from this movie. Johnny Cage was ripped off from Jean Claude Van Damme. Scorpion and Sub Zero are from American Ninja. Kano and Sonya are cliché from the 80s. Goro is from the old Sinbad movies. Liu Kang from Bruce Lee.

The whole point Jack not kissing her is to legit spare her feelings. Like he said sooner or later he rubs everyone the wrong way. So by not kissing Gracey goodbye he's intentionally not giving her false hope that he'll come back to her. He's not making a promise he can't keep. Subtle Chad move. At least that's how I see it.
