But Carrey is such a master at it he kept doing it perfectly, so finally, he just went back and knocked everything off by hand, and that's the take they went with.

Crazy Fact: Jim Carrey said the first makeup sitting took 8 1/2 hours to apply. He said it felt like being buried alive. This made him almost quit the movie. Producer Brain Grazer hired a gentleman that teaches CIA operatives how to endure torture!!!

Also the scene when the Grinch was a kid in school and all the kids in his class including the teacher laughed at him (except for Martha May), something pretty similar happened to me. When I was in year 5, everyone in my class (including myself) were on detention one lunchtime. During the detention, there was a very little drop of blood on my finger and looked at it and talked very silently, then about 2 minutes later I looked up and everyone in my class was just staring at me and I said "What?" and then everyone including the teacher laughed at me (except for the girl sitting right next to me) 😥.
