I thought it would be a good idea to give you all an insight into our wildlife pond: how it was made, how it works and the plans for it on the channel. Through the spring and summer we will be doing lots more videos on ponds, from building to maintenance and everything in between.
As it's only January and the middle of Winter here, there isn't much to do in the pond, but we do need to find out where the leak is on the waterfall!
All my aquariums and ponds run on @NTLabsOfficialSite products. Go follow their channel to see up to date news on everything NT Labs.

If stuff isn’t frozen and there’s not snow it’s not cold. Toughen up. 😂just teasing. this is really beautiful. Wish I could do a pond like this but I’d need a heater so it wouldn’t freeze solid in winter. Maybe someday. Anyone have experience with keeping a pond from freezing in winter?
@FishShopMatt
@FishShopMatt 8 ай бұрын
Hahahaha yeah when I used to build them I think I was tougher. Loads of different options to keep an area of ice free, but it depends how frozen it gets. You can get mini pond heaters that keep an area free. If you go onto the aquascape pond website you can find local pond builders near you and they will have the best recommendations for your area.

Nice wildlife pond but surely if you fully drain and clean out the pond you will lose all your over wintering dragon fly and damsel fly nymphs. I am guessing your filter is a wetland filter, I have one I built running on my wildlife pond, far more effective than any shop built filter. 😊

I was wondering if you could do a "How to" video for when someone is moving to a new house? I am planning on moving soon and would love to know the best way to move my tanks from one house to another.

howdy Mathew, have you considered going to the coast and collecting creatures from tide pools and making a tide pool aquarium ?

I done it years and years ago and it was so cool to watch their interactions. The hardest thing was keeping it cold enough for them.

Ponds and patio water gardens are absolutely my favourite! I would LOVE to see more pond videos from you this summer. I am currently setting up a grow out tank for some medaka rice fish that I'm planning to add to a 50 g patio pond this year. I can't wait to see some baby fry swimming around.

That sounds awesome, will definitely have more videos on ponds coming. As someone else has said be careful with medaka as they aren't legal to keep outside in the UK.
