Again I'm in awe of these guys. There's this line that says: "singing alone a song that is sung in turns", I think they may be referring to the seasonal behavior of the whales, ex. Once in a year, and that is very sad; imagine having to wait a whole year to sing your song and even then nobody will listen. Also the word play with whale and alien, whalien; a singular creature that no one has ever seen or heard. Again, these guys are masters in their craft, I'll never get tired of going along in this journey with them. Also, guys you know that you have a BIG family that's praying for you, God made possible for us to be on this planet at the same time to help each other even though is through prayer. Apparently there's a big documentary that is coming about this topic and the makers are aware of BTS making this song and they have said that they liked the song or something. Makes me proud everytime to know that our boys are not just divinely good looking and supremely talented but they are socially knowledgeable and aware. I love how BTS can take a story or an issue and empathize with it. Like to the extent that they take you with them and you feel another's pain like your own. that's one of those things that you can only do with music. Tha'ts why the language doesn't really hinder us. Once we've read the lyrics the song is yours. This is one of the things that makes army amazing is that so many take in these lessons and internalize them for themselves. Almost all army says the same thing, "BTS makes us better people." I like who I am better when I have BTS in my life, and for that reason I'll be army 4life.

This song has a way of finding people when they need it most. I keep this song so close to my heart. As someone who was diagnosed with a disease a year before covid hit, that has kept me in isolation from people so I don't get sick, this song always hits me so hard. People that aren't army, just don't understand why we love BTS so much, this song is a prime example. They are lyrical geniuses. I felt understood, I feel seen. The next person is suppose to go after you start but no one is there so you just keep starting over the song by yourself. Possibly even thinking someone will join in even though you know no one is there. And that is indeed very lonely. No one is there to hear you crying and even if they were they couldn't tell because you're so deep in the sea, your tears are covered by water. They were really going through it. Whalien52 is bts and army. We're not heard, we're here singing our own song on a frequency that no one hears. Yet, we keep swimming on this deep blue sea called life,we got bigger and bigger, they think they can hear us now. But it's all the same, if you're not an army, you'll never understand and hear how beautifully created individuals can change your perspective. We're now swimming in our own ocean, bts and army can hear each other's hertz/hearts (pun intended). And that's why army is protective of bts, we can only hear each other's frequency. I loved you calling out the hopeful end of the song because I think this perfectly encapsulates one of the themes that runs through BTS’ discography, the power of the belief in the concept of TOMORROW. My guess is that the line "singing alone a song that is sung in turns", refers to the way whales speak. When whales get together and communicate with each other, it can sound like a song. But, because other whales can't hear that particular whale; it is calling out but no one is responding.

Since discovering Whalien 52 and its translation and performance, I weep each time I hear it. It is one of the very saddest of BTS' songs, and even the mild note of hope as it ends is for me deeply sad. In the face of such loneliness, the energy that any hope requires is unimaginable. Also, the knowledge that people will look coldly at such pain and call it a lie is something BTS deals with every day : it's deeply painful and yet they have the courage to share it openly in this way. I simply do not understand how anyone in the world can dislike or be indifferent to these people and what they do. They speak for themselves, but they share what we all know from our own lives too, because they are brutally honest. Those who don't know or don't wish to know hear the upbeat, and think it's trivial or false. They expose only their own shallowness. Thank you for your reactions to this moving, moving song
