now that is a boot, i like how it is most flat on the bottom like the barefoot rangers, which are the only boots i can wear without foot and ankle pain, i adore the barefoot rangers, first time in 20 years no pain

Got my first pair of JG boots yesterday, the Buffalo African Rangers, fit and finish are great. Super comfortable and well built. Ordered a pair of Razorbacks too which are on the way. Received my Buffalo Rangers yesterday. Nearly perfect last for my feet. Leather, fit, finish is exceptional. Fresh hide is not creasing. Treated with Saphir for oiled leather.I see more Rangers in my future.

MY new go to everything boot, for sizing I have normal wide feet and for me im usually a 9.5Wide over in the states for boots/shoes like Redwings/New balance and the 9.5 jim green baobab fit perfect for me. For those that need additional insole support, I find that a thin leather or thin foam insoles works fine for added cushioning. Would love to see some wax lace option and styles from JG.

I too got my rangers yesterday and they did not disappoint and lived up to the hype. I ordered a 1/2 size up to a 12 1/2. 12s would have been fine but my feet have a comfortable toe box and they DONT slide around in the shoe. They re perfect. Well constructed, good looking, i dont want to seal them but will have to e entually. JG is embossed on the heel. Looks great, most will want thst, i would have preferred the iconic yellow tag but Id also buy them again as they are. Gonna put an order in for shoellies later on this year.

I got mine in the other day. Typical excellent Jim Green value - nicely made, good leather, at a great price. I really like the leather lasting board upgrade. I’m an 11 US on the Brannock device, somewhere between an E and EE width. My Jim Green Stockmans in 11.5 are just a little too big in length, so I went with an 11.5 US in this boot. With thin socks, the fit is very snug and nice, which is what I want. If I was going to wear these with thick socks, I’d definitely want a size 12 US. This last is more narrow than typical Jim Green lasts, so they are more “almond” shaped than the typical round shape of other Jim Green shoes like the Stockman. For sure, they are more narrow than the Stockman, but not uncomfortably so. Some people say than the wider Jim Green lasts are too round and this new slimmer last may make those people happy. After about 5 miles of break-in, they are quite comfortable but still have some break-in left to go before they are perfect. I treated mine with my usual beeswax weatherproofing mix, and they turned an absolutely wonderful chocolate brown color that I think looks very smart. Very happy with my purchase! And it's really nice to see how they are made!

Jim Green's webpage says: "This is standard width (for those with wide feet or wearing thick socks we suggest going a half size up from your normal Jim Green size)" My pair of Stockmans are my only other pair of Jim Green boots, and those seem just a touch big in 11.5, so I would think my normal Jim Green size is 11. I spent a good bit of this morning pulling weeds and running my string trimmer in my Baobab, and with medium-thick socks, they were pretty comfortable. I'm thinking I agree withe Jim Green webpage suggestion of going up 1/2 size from your normal Jim Green size.

Thats a great looking boot and a very nice looking leather. I would prefer a „real“ lug sole, but thats just me. Can you do an in-depth video about all the leathers you use in your boots ? Like Nicks Boots has done, where they show the inside and outside of the leather, how it reacts to scratches etc. ? Much appreciated

I think I missed this one when it was released, these are some really slick boots for sure. If I'd have to point out one thing I would want to change it would be to include a fully gusseted tongue, is that something that would be possible for a custom made pair? And out of curiosity, how would a steel shank impact the boot? Could that also be added if desired? I am curious as that is part of the razorback and ranger boot, but I don't really understand why one would need it and the other not. These boots really look great though!

@@riverpower9402 Superb. I bought the limited run buffalo leather African Rangers. They are comfortable, durable, have good splash resistance (feet haven't gotten wet yet!), lace quickly and easily, and the soft rubber sole has fantastic grippiness that works excellently on everything I've tried except for slick mud. The first day I wore them, I walked up my local mountain. The second and third days I was on my feet all day. No sore feet at the end of the days. I also have a pair of roughout vellies which I like very much. They took longer to break in to a comfortable level, and the sole is a harder rubber. The upper leather is soft and supple. I anticipate both pairs will last a lifetime with occasional conditioning and resoling as necessary. The last on the vellies and Rangers is very wide, so if you have narrow feet you may wish to pick a model with a more compact last. Overall, highly recommended!
