I've read many of Delores Cannons books in regards to Atlantis. In those books, she mentioned that Atlantis, mostly fell to the negative use of large crystal. They where using the power of their minds in combination with these crystals in an attempt to drill through the earth's core. 3 primary 3 secondary colors. 6 colors in the color wheel. Indigo was pressured to be added to fit the principle you first mentioned. As an artist proficient in color theory, I can assure you there this is true. The colors are based off of duality, each with their own opposite. An odd number of colors in the wheel wouldn't fit in such a system.
