Mei Mei is meant to be a foil to Nanami. She hoards money while he saves it, she’s lazy while he’s hard working, she manipulates/grooms children while he cherishes and protects them. She is to show what we have in Jujutsu society but Nanami represented what it should have been

I really don't get the outrage over mei mei scene. Not becoz it wasn't problematic, but becoz it was very obviously problematic. Didn't she ask her little brother to die for her just a few ep ago? (She even mentions that she doesn't like asking others for favour, so she has her brother do them for her)

I honestly think I have the exact opposite opinion on the mei mei thing. She's a horrible person and thats definitely the point. Gege has a lot of trouble with writing female characters but this at least kind of works.

Hi, a bit of clarification for the Mei Mei scene. Not to defend her actions, but it makes sense within the narrative. Mei Mei is a foil to Nanami and the scene with her and her brother is supposed to illustrate that. While Nanami was a protect the kids guy Mei Mei is shown taking advantage of them - the most egregious example being her brother. In Nanami dying and Mei Mei surviving, it shows that for jujutsu sorcerers having the mentality of protect the kids is morally correct yet unfeasible. The scene was used to demonstrate this. Im not trying to defend her or even this scene, just to provide a bit of an explanation.

also this is further proved by her ending the arc in Malaysia which Nanami had expressed interest in. Its a shame too because this message could have been gotten across without her being a child molester. It just kinda nuked her character and leaves little room for nuance as the story progresses

My hero movies are canon. First one takes place before the summer camp attack. Second takes place after my villain academia before endeavor internship arc. Third takes place during the endeavor internship after the ending attack. Star and strip also first appears in the first movie and mellisa builds all might a mech suit for the final battle

The gauntlet from the first movie (MHA) appears in the vigilante arc Also i think the reason people hate what the GoW creator said was because it felt more like he was one of those people that see kratos as only him in gameplay and not the nuance. One thing to have an opinion and another to sound hateful or offended at something a lot of fans think is the next logical step for a character and works.

I agree that FMAB’s biggest issue is the pacing. It’s very inconsistent in its pacing and it’s unfortunate that it doesn’t reach the heights of the manga.

That's literally not true though. It's incredibly well paced after the first 15 eps and follows the pacing of the manga to a point.

Literally, the most important characters from the mha movies have appeared in th manga lately. Like the 2 kids bakugo and deku saved show up in the manga. The bird guy from the 3rd movie shows up. Melissa from the 1st movie is referenced in a very important detail in the vigilante deku arc.

The Uzumaki scene was SIIIICK!!! IT LOOKED JUST LIKE JUNJI ITO'S "UZUMAKI" (well, a particular scene from one of the first few chapters of Uzumaki)!!! So basically the events on a MHA movies are not cannon but the lote and characters are cannon, just like the recent One piece movies (the ones Oda had input on) have cannon lore and characters but the events themselves are not cannon. Although they dont have the weight of mugen train and jjk 0 they do a good job of expanding the universe a bit while showing fun interactions and powers Btw Noritoshi is the family name, Kamo is the first name

Not defending Mei Mei, but to give some clarification. I'm pretty sure THAT scene is to show her utter disregard for the safety of Qui Qui. In comparison in the same episode we have Choso doing everything he can to protect his newly found brother. Where as Mei will do anything to get money and get ahead in life.

(I'm an artist not a youtuber so take this with a grain of salt) Being a mangaka is worse than being a youtuber. A single panel often takes hours to make. You need several per page and 16-18 pages a week. Mangakas often work 100 hour weeks
