So then i made a little cookbook-of family recipes.. made sure from then-on to attach tags with ideas for how to use/ enjoys homemade gifts! I ADORE your channel! Do you mind sharing the process of how you freeze dry the broth? We’ve had our Freeze Dryer since October and love it! FDrying #27th batch tonight. Frozen shredded hash brown potatoes!
@kzink3496 Жыл бұрын
@@bobbiewilliams3109 it's so easy which I love about it. Pour your finished broth directly onto the freeze dryer tray being sure you stay within the weight limits of your unit. Ours is a medium so we keep it at 2 lbs. Then pre-freeze if possible. I pre-freeze everything to save time in the freeze dryer. The freeze drying process should take about 18-24 hrs again depending on if pre-frozen and size of your FD. Once done I transfer contents of each tray into a ziplock bag and crush to powder with a rolling pin and then pour into a canning jar with a moisture absorber (short term storage) or oxygen absorber (long term storage). We're on batch 39 (got ours in December) so you can tell we have been FD'g like crazy LOL You'll love using the FD'd hash browns since they store so long and rehydrate so easily. Enjoy!

Hi Mrs. Lori. I got a tip from another KZbinr about turning the bottle or jar upside down to keep moisture out of your garlic and onion powders etc. and dry mixes. I started doing that and I can get thru a big jar of the onion and garlic powder, and it does not clump up from moisture. You and Mr. Brown have an awesome and blessed week. Stay safe and stay well. Love ya.

I have been freeze drying all of my broths, whether it be beef, chicken mushroom or vegetable broth it is so much more shelf stable, and I can use it anytime I want and just add a little water to reconstitute it. It is so much more flavor and that freeze dried broth. I’m excited to make some of the dry mixes with it

Also condensing down all of that broth into one large jar rather than 12 jars makes a big difference when it comes to the other items that need to go on the pantry shelves

It started to explode a little bit times like oh great so I took it out and I was like what can I do with this just like you know what I can make a vinegar with it and I did and it smells amazing and I had a beautiful Scoby on it. I saved that Scoby so that I could have it as a starter for the next one I make.
