“How do I talk to women if they scare me” - if you feel like this, I always say it’s really good to ground yourself and realize that this person you’re nervous to approach is just a human like you, with their own thoughts and anxieties- just like you have. I feel that when we see someone as super attractive, or admirable, we put them on a pedestal higher than yourself, and in your mind this de-humanises them to some extent, but removing that and not letting yourself get carried away has been something that’s really helped me in different situations.

I don't really watch football either but I think whenever they keep crashing into each other, the idea is that some of the guys on the line are going to create a gap for the guy with the ball to run through. That gap isn't always properly created so they crash into each other. No matter what side of the field you want to run down, you need to have space and the guys on the line are supposed to try to create that space for you if you have the ball. Sometimes the other team can see what kind of space you want to create and they make a play to try to stop you. That's why they so often seem like they just crash into each other. One team has a plan and the other team's plan is to stop them.

As someone who doesn't really watch either, this sounds the most correct. I'm still learning the game and I'm like 32 lol. That being said, it is a frustrating sport to watch. I get the game clock, plays, and time-outs, but good god sometimes it takes 15 minutes just to get through 2 minutes of play. I'm a hockey guy and that sport is really fast paced so to come over to football, it can be frustrating.
@narcocastillo378310 ай бұрын
It's also because they're so fast. Even the linemen who are huge have insane reaction time and a gap that a running back sees for like a fraction of a second can be immediately closed in the fraction of a second it takes for them to reach the line of scrimmage by one of the linemen.
@gregcub3d10 ай бұрын
the other part of it is kinda mental, i.e. "we're stronger than y'all are, we can go through these reps longer than y'all" etc. and by the time it's the 4th quarter the hope is that you've worn down the opponent to the point where that gap DOES stay open an extra half-second or whatever so the runner can burst through the line

The ones running into each other are the offensive and defensive lineman. It’s part of the play, but I know exactly what Maya means. The running backs will go right up the middle through the pile instead of going outside. I’m sure there’s strategy behind it but it does look dumb when you don’t understand football. And Usher is amazing! A legend!! Been a fan since “Nice and Slow!” 🔥
@legojedimasterplokoon217310 ай бұрын
The basic strategy behind the inside handoff rush is that the offensive lineman block, creating a gap for the runningback to get through. This play is usually "safer" than other plays and will often result in getting a few yards with results of no yards and a lot of yards both being relatively rare. This is because the rb is running straight forward and never back or to the side, which is necessary for most plays, but at the same time is directly engaging with the are with the most defenders

For the second question, i think about Stavros Halkis' advice. Your goal when youre anxious and worried about talking with a woman is just getting rejections. Dont worry about landing a date, or a hook up, or even getting/giving out a number. Just get a rejection, eventually you'll be desensitized to rejection, and you can just focus on being yourself. The hardest thing is overcoming the fesr of rejection

For those that don’t know why the football players “just run straight into each other”. The truth is that’s not literally what’s happening. The men on the line, when their team has the ball are actually trying to PUSH the other team either left or right. Each play has a specific plan for which gap between players the runner will run through, and it’s his teams job to create enough space for him. If they don’t create enough space, it’s because the person they’re pushing is stronger- and that’s when plays fail, and ultimately ends up showing which team is stronger overall and which is weaker.
@torrix459310 ай бұрын
I just wanted to weigh in a bit on the "husband wants open relationship" part. While I would never be able to be in an open relationship personally, I do feel that if there is to be an open relationship, that is something that is determined either when the relationship starts or shortly after it has started. If a husband of 2 years wants/suggests one, I'm sorry to say, but that man probably doesn't wanna be with you anymore but still want you as an 'option', and if you were to get with someone he would have issues with it.

About the first relationship advice question. The guy might be aromantic which is not feeling romantic attraction, in that case not having romantic feelings for anyone. I think I'm on the aromantic spectrum since I've never felt romantic attraction or crushes growing up. That might change after dating more but idk.
@torrix459310 ай бұрын
It's also important to note that even if you are aromantic that doesn't mean that you don't want to have a relationship with anyone, I'm not aromantic so please do correct me if I'm incorrect about something but they can very well still feel a longing and want for a relationship with someone, that closeness is something most humans want in some capacity. Either way anything is valid as long as it's what you want

The Kelce ambush on Reid was ridiculous. There was zero respect for the coach there. I'm dirt poor and have poverty brain pretty bad. I do like it when people give me gifts, but I'm tremendously insecure about people spending money on me. I'm working on it in therapy, lol. I say all that because gifts don't have to be huge or expensive to be meaningful (at least imo). I'm really into foraging and nature stuff, and one time my partner came home from a walk and give me a small handful of acorns. Another time it was a green intact sweet gum seed ball. They were free and little things, but they were tiny treasures to me :) Not to mention that they were temporary in nature and I wouldn't feel guilt eventually composting them outside. Sometimes receiving and posessing more and more items is a burden, or just flat out wasteful and uncessesary. So I guess I'm the perfect recipient of a rock gift, lol. If my partner found a nice rock and put a smiley face on it and gave it to me, I would think it was tremenduosly sweet. Any time I'd look at the rock I'd think of them, and ESPECIALLY think of the fact that they took the time to find a nice rock and put a smiley face on it just so that it would brighten my day.

i think the reason approaching women in public is hard, is because hardly anyone does this, women especially. I'm an ok, friendly looking guy. I've never in my life been approached by a woman when I was alone, just to chat. Doesn't happen. We're not very social, men and women aren't that different in this regard, everyone will just sit alone. But the world opens up to anyone that can overcome this, you can become very popular just by talking to randoms in public.

36:00 you're sweet Maya but speaking from experience this approach is really soul-crushing. If you're just some Paul you're gonna get rejected hundreds of times before any girl gives you time. That's just reality. Women are very picky and you need to stand out. Even if they are introvertic you have to be outgoing and engaging. Unless you're dating 40+.

To the woman who is looking for how to move on, here is my advice if you are interested: stop focusing on the good times and all the things you like about them. Focus on the stuff you would be settling for by potentially being with them (like constant anxiety and uncertainty). Focus on all the times you felt bad with them and because of them and don’t allow yourself to sit in thoughts of good times and stuff you like about them. Then decide, if you are in love with this person who clearly does not feel the same way about you, can you move on with your life if you’re still clutching onto this relationship? In the end, this is YOUR life. This person is not the center of your universe. You were fine before this person, you’ll be great after them. Rooting for you!

Yeah idk the cold opens are so tricky because yes the idea of having a script probably helps a lot but it's more the matter of timing? Is it *really* appropriate to do that at a coffee shop than a bar? I'm always assuming people are very busy and trying to move on to the next location/objective so it feels rude to impose that conversation onto them. This could even be applied to a bar, but at least there are more subtle ways to make your presence known (i.e. buying a drink for someone across the room).

my two cents on the open relationship query: if you are not comfortable w being in an open relationship - then you shouldn't be in one in the same way, if you're not comfortable w being in a closed relationship, you shouldn't be in one either this goes for mono- and polyamorous relationships too. and there are always people who have similar feelings as you, and you shouldn't try to push it one way or the other
