A family of four is having their house renovated but the 2 kids aren't making the process any easier. The constant laziness, throwing of clothes under beds, and their excuses for having dirty bedrooms so they can find things easier is why Kim Woodburn and Mike Chalut have been called in to help this family get on top of their untidy and messy ways and show them how to keep your house clean during a renovation.
Only Human celebrates and explores the unique and personal qualities we all have. Our channel offers a range of TV series and documentaries about human experiences and life journeys - while looking at the challenges life throws at us, turning ordinary people into everyday heroes.

Totally agree! I can't believe more parents in these similar situations don't cut off the WI-FI and take away the cell phones to get these spoiled teens motivated.

These parents should've taught the kids to help with household & yard work at a very young age. You start by having a 4 yr. old fold washcloths & help rake with a toy rake. Progress with harder chores as they get older. By the time they are teens, they should be doing the same chores as any adult. Also, the kids shouldn't be wearing hats in the house. Take the boy for a good haircut!

I agree, these two kids have no respect for their parents, they have no boundaries, but the parents are not blameless, because they've allowed this behaviour by spoiling them; It seems that they are ruling their parents. Yes, that boy's hair looks messy.

It’s the way of parenting today..to afraid of hurting the children’s feelings enabling them to walk all over the adults which is absolutely INSANE.

They are addicted to video games. Too zoned out. Less video games, more schedules for chores, more outdoor activities and quality time as a family and the children will brighten up. Children need guidance and encouragement to be happy healthy future adults. I have a suspicion that the adults just let the kids be while they work on renovations. Not that kids need to get into the renovations because it’s dangerous, but they certainly should be contributing daily.

You can’t parent by sarcasm. This is where the children get their attitudes. They sound like entitled jerks. (The children) This won’t be solved in a week. Nagging doesn’t work on teenagers. There is no follow through coming from the parents AT ALL. Be firm, but treat your children with respect and honesty. What a picture of ineffective parenting!

When doing a reno it has to be set up right. One thing you don't do is make it harder for yourself by having to wash and dust everything after. Ever heard of poly used for sectioning off areas, tarps, positive/negative air flow with a poly tunnel or filter. Good contractors could do all that for you, do it quicker with a warranty. If you don't know what you are doing, hire a pro. Don't call me, I am busy lol! Kids are not at fault, looks like they have been babied and have never been trained to appreciate what they have, nor have learned gratitude, giving, positive reinforcement etc.

Kids nowadays are spending far too much time on their phones and computers; The parents need to keep the number of hours they spend on them to a sensible limit. They don't get them to help out with chores which is good for them as they progress into adulthood. Encourage them to keep their rooms tidy.

It starts with mimicry. If Mom and Dad are checked out on their phone or computer all the time, the kids are going to think that's normal.

What happened to doing without questioning ? Earning items paying for there own things and being given limited time on items and not answering back its up to the parents on how they raise them. I would have just taken the laptop and computer away simple as learning consequences for the actions I.e the lack of from the children and parents being soft and doormats. Get away with so much more now and respect is virtually gone now.

These parents infuriate me. The kids are living in a construction zone, which they have no control over, and it's extremely stressful. I had construction on my house for over a year due to old damages from the previous owner, and my 7 animals and I completely shut down from anxiety and instability.

First of all if those awful parents think it is okay to call their children names as well as expect them to do the housework they are very much mistaken. They are the adults but their behaviour is that of children. No wonder those poor kids reacted in a negative way. That is hands down the worst parenting I have ever seen. When she said she is not a maid so her children need to do housework I was horrified. That father has nerve to call his kids lazy. He is home all day and obviously does nothing. They do not deserve children.

It's the old blame/shame model of parenting that is super concerned about the kids behavior and not the behavof the adults. Kids learn everything by example.
