Joy is a 57-year-old retiree who has an obsession with collecting vintage toys, games and dolls. With two of her bedrooms and her study packed to the rafters with stuff, Joy keeps on adding to it, and now her home would put most toy museums to shame. Six years ago, Joy's husband Dennis convinced her to turn her compulsive collecting into a business and open a shop. Sadly a year later, Dennis became ill with terminal cancer, and even though the shop had to close, with the entire stock coming back home with her, Joy continued buying more toys and dolls on a regular

Who in the name of sanity paints a child's BEDROOM RED?? Especially a room for a child who is likely stressed/scared?? And who may be older than 5?? And not even proper curtains in her own bedroom! Shocking waste of money, I know what things cost and it's perfectly possible to redo the whole place for a fraction of what they wasted. I bet Joy changed plenty once they left.

Reading a few comments here has spared me from watching this episode. I do not enjoy seeing people being cheated when the “expert” practically gives their collections away to dealers & I don’t like seeing someone’s home ruined by ridiculous “decorators.”

Omigosh! You made the right decision! Joy was gracious about it, but I found the decorating pretty disturbing. That ridiculous chandelier and flock wallpaper would be gone before that decorator was down the road if she put that junk in my house.

I collect dolls and teddy bears. Her collection was worth at the very least 10,000 dollars! The man that bought the best best barbies at the stand got a steal and yet balked at the little he ended up paying! The design was not good in any of the rooms! She liked victorian and nothing looked victorian to me. I love victorian!

I participated in digital interior design, this designer would definitely be rated at the very bottom of in the list. All the rooms are quite small, the first idea should be to use colours and designs to make them look and feel larger yet the designer did just the opposite.

The Barbie dolls are worth a tiny fortune alone, I believe. How much more the early 21st century dolls and teddy bears. She collected those for four years only to get less than $10,000 for them? Those removals cost about £300-£500 so they needed to deduct that too and the cost of the market stall.... The auction house charging 30% in fees and commission.... not value for money. She should have put things on auction sites herself where collector's buy things not dealers.

I like the main bedroom except the awful curtains. The kids room is too black and red. Someone made a comment that's it's an awful design for a foster child. The office is not great either. I also find the man very pushy with selling. It's as if he parties too much on the weekends and is strung up and worn out for work

I really like the redesign - not keen on the red furniture with green walls in the office, though the red looks good with the blue boxes and the pink flowers. The paint colour in the bedroom is a bit “muddy” for my taste. I’d like a more whitish pink. I like the orange in the bedroom, though I don’t think the small orange boxes are very practical. I love the wallpaper, the headboard and the lighting!

This is nice. I’m an antique seller buyer and I was drooling over things that she had those cute tiny little dolls and those teddy bears. Oh I would’ve been in heaven. I was buying and selling and piling up my place with my things you bring your work home with you when you sell. I don’t want to sell anymore. I am jaded by some of the not so pleasant people that I have had to deal with and then indignities at the shows. I just don’t want to do it anymore. I want to find something else to do but the stuff has to go. I’ve donated a lot of it. If I can’t sell it, I donated it. Time for a new life and to enjoy my space.

Oh my word. Do not like the designer. Does not know anything about color. This is not the first video I have watched that I found the end result awful. Do not like designers attitude, since when does any designer just do what they want. It is a case of Oh what color would you like, all excited you will mention soft pinks and pastel hues, No says designer I am going to bring in black and dark green, because I am modern. Totally agree with all the comments below. Designer wastes money and nothing to show for it.

Sorry but I didnt like any of the rooms the wallpaper didn't match the red furniture in the office room ! The kids room looked cheap and didn't have much going on because of the celling I would have done a full on carnival / circus theme as it looked like a circus tent celling, and the main bedroom i liked the pink and the bed but same goes the furniture was horrible and didn't match at all wasn't for me !

Not impressed, terrible colour scheme which has too much dark. That flock wallpaper I felt was awful especially in such a small room. Black is a depressing colour so not suitable for a child. Need to change all the dark colours to much lighter colours which give the impression of bigger rooms. Red is a very strong overwhelming colour, pastel calming colours would have been much better. Did the designer bother to ask Joy what colours she wanted?
