In the first of this two-part Special, self-professed fried chicken lover and host Steven Chia finds out what’s behind our craving for fried chicken, why do we keep coming back for more, despite knowing that it is bad for us? And what is this obsession REALLY doing to our health?

I love that Steven mention that he is on IF lifestyle despite the fact that he literally spam fried chicken for 2 weeks. It just shows that not only having a IF lifestyle helps losing weight but it's what exactly happening inside our body. Choosing the right REAL food and cooperating with IF definitely is the way to healthier and longer lifespan which not alot of people understand..

Heya Steve! I do wonder abt your blood sugar Lv too due to the batter and the sauces involved. Good job as always!

I already know the reason behind the red colors inside a restaurants. It is actually because of psychology. There’s something about the red color that makes customers eat fast and leave fast which leads to more customers. Hence why red is commonly used in fast foods resto.

I don't think it's sustainable. Think of this. An average piece of fried chicken is around 300-400 kcal. If you eat only 3pc for a day that's only 900-1200 calories. To compare. An average male adult should eat around 2000 kcal. So it's very unhealthy. Unless you're like 100+ kilos, don't care about health and just wanted to look slim then by all means continue.

My concern for this topic for all the different brands would be as follow 1) Where the source of chicken comes from 2)Are they all fresh or frozen reason being the skin is just fried with different seasoning and when you bite it, inside some are of white meat, juicy and tender, other might otherwise. Hopefully this chapter will help consumers to unveil the truth of where the source of chicken , how they are bred and if frozen, how long before they are being used as it is really the common and highly favoured you can find everywhere in SG. Thank you.
