My husband, kids & I lived in our home while building it. Walls, insulation,plumbing,electricity went in & so did we!! It 😂wasn't easy. I did dishes in bath tub, used a wood stove for heat ( whenever we had to disconnect heat while working), plywood floors, unfinished drywall,...the whole thing. Got it done that year!! Good for you. I got a similar project but it's much more of a clusterfuck than this. Very similar layout. Gutting it. Going to be a helluva project but not currently living there.... one more room to gut then we're starting on the floors... new 3/4 plywood all around and new rim joist. My nightmare will eventually be a nice home.

We have a 1976 mobile home that needs a LOT of work (roof, electrical, flooring and its extremely dated esthetically). We've been told it's not worth doing a remodel. I feel there's potential, but i dont know anything about anything when it comes to remodels. Would a full remodel be worth it? Or would a demolish and purxhase of a new home be a better option? Your family is inspiring, thank you for your time!❤

What was the final cost (you said it was “on a budget”) and where did your materials come from? My son has a very old mobile home and I found that his stove was leaning on the outside wall because the inside wall and floor have rotted away! Now, we are looking at a complete kitchen redo because the cabinets are not going to survive being moved and replaced. Looking for the least expensive route to provide him with a functional and not ugly kitchen.

I have a dishwasher in my home but never use it. It is so much easier to wash by hand. I do run it about once a year to make sure it is still working lol😂😂. Love your channel, can't get enough of watching.

I honestly don't get why anyone would do knockdown on the walls and orange peel on the ceiling. Makes no sense, it's just making more work and costing you time, which equals more money. It's not going to sell any different for doing it, so from a business perspective, I don't get it. It doesn't sound like you didn't care, so I don't get why it was even done at this point?

That’s the first thing that’s going as soon as I get my house moved so I can start remodeling. I’m not going to be able to gut it by myself. Taking one room at a time. Actually I’m not gutting anything just tweaking, painting and putting down new flooring. I definitely want a farmhouse sink and not the chrome one that’s in it. Going to have to look for one at Habitat, Goodwill or FB Marketplace. I’m so excited my brother gifted the trailer to me haven’t seen it yet. Came to KZbin for ideas and inspiration. I have a dream! First time homeowner! I love how you can make a trailer into a house, a home. ❤
