Welcome to our home 🏡 We’re far from being done, but G and I have worked really hard to get here and want to open our doors and share with you! When I was pregnant last year, we started our house hunt and many of you came along with us on Stories!! We went from house to house, trying to imagine our lives there, raising kids, being a part of a neighborhood. Although we saw so many beautiful houses, none of them felt quite right, until we found this one! It wasn’t even finished being built yet, only about halfway done, but G and I saw that as an opportunity to help customize it from the ground up to really make it our dream home! We’re still pinching ourselves and grateful every day to be raising Alessandra here! Help us finish it off! Lots of house projects to come and would love your input! Reality for others in the world.... First, take out the furniture: leave a few old blankets, a kitchen table, maybe a wooden chair. You’ve never had a bed, remember? Second, throw out your clothes. Each person in the family may keep the oldest suit or dress, a shirt or blouse. The head of the family has the only pair of shoes. Third, all kitchen appliances have vanished. Keep a box of matches, a small bag of flour, some sugar and salt, a handful of onions, a dish of dried beans. Rescue those moldy potatoes from the garbage can: those are tonight’s meal. Fourth, dismantle the bathroom, shut off the running water, take out the wiring and the lights and everything that runs by electricity. Fifth, take away the house and move the family into the toolshed. Sixth, by now all the other houses in the neighborhood have disappeared; instead there are shanties - for the fortunate ones. Seventh, cancel all the newspapers and magazines. Throw out the books. You won’t miss them - you are now illiterate. One radio is now left for the whole shantytown. Eighth, no more postman, fireman, government services. The two- classroom school is 3 miles away, but only 2 of your 7 children attend anyway, and they walk. Ninth, no hospital, no doctor. The nearest clinic is now 10 miles away with a midwife in charge. You get there by bus or bicycle, if you’re lucky enough to have one. Tenth, throw out your bankbooks, stock certificates, pension plans, insurance policies. You now have a cash hoard of $5. Eleventh, get out and start cultivating your three acres. Try hard to raise $300 in cash crops because your landlord wants one-third and your moneylender 10 percent. Twelfth, find some way for your children to bring in a little extra money so you have something to eat most days. But it won’t be enough to keep bodies healthy - so lop off 25 to 30 years from your life, if you can call it that.

Don't isolate yourself. There are people who have been through what you might be facing right now and they overcame it. Don't push people away, surround yourself with people who are spiritually mature and get the help that you need. Isolation when you are in pain and don't know if there's a way out is dangerous and that's why we have suicide cases. Listen, there's nothing that you can be facing that God is not able to solve for with God nothing is impossible. Hold on. Jesus loves you.

Beautiful house tour. Thank you. New sub. I cant wait to see the progress. When I saw the Master bathroom, I loved your idea of opening the window above the tub. Until then, I wonder if you could create the illusion of window. Fake it by duplicating the look of the actual window with a frame and frosted glass and extend it all the way to the other corner. That way it doesn't look so off center. Or, just adding wall art or shelving would help. Idk why I got stuck on that window. My goodness everything else is so perfect. That big picture window is primo!! And. oh that staircase is sublime. You have a gorgeous little bundle of love as well. She is so pretty.

It was definately a man that picked the laundry and bathroom tiles.. What were they thinking! Can't wait to see the finished bathrooms, closets, master bedroom and baby room! Think about putting a bath into baby's room. My son is turning 9 and he loved showers, and then just started hating them. Maybe a shower/bath if they have designed one that actually looks good.
