Life On The Hulls

Күн бұрын

After months of modification on our Bows we are finally laminating them to a structural finish. Days of preparation and some extremely hard work we are so proud to have completed the bows and are now ready for final fairing and a new look without compromise.
Our New Shape is complete!
Our KZbin build series is all about what it takes to build a Catamaran from Scratch. There is so much detail in a build of this size and so many different techniques involved in bringing her to fruition. I trust you will find something that may help with your current or future project, repair or dream boat build. If you feel there is value, please let us know and comment so we can continue to produce content worth your valuable time.

The two of you are just cracking on, and the laughter is a testament to many good years. I can't wait to see the two of you enjoying your years of hard work building this vessel. I hope your plan is to do absolutely nothing other than enjoy yourselves. At least for a while. Thanks for taking the time to share this part of your journey. Stay safe

Rossco, I can't get over how much the cat has changed, it only feels like two minutes ago since you lifted the top with the crane and layed it upon the hull frame. As for Janet giving you the bird only twice in 6 yrs is unbelievable especially when my missus gives me the bird at least once a month. Also I couldn't help but laugh at Janet playing you the world's smallest violin. Bloody priceless 😅😂😊. Guy's the cat is looking awesome well done and keep up the brilliant work!!! As always guy's 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.

The bows look quite amazing. That's the result of superior prep. I'm a tyrant when it comes to prep. No ahort cuts. My question is how do you know the holes are filled full depth? How much does that matter?

Seems in spite of all you've said, you've really learned how to do composites efficiently Ross.. credit Janet of course for keeping you focused. No wasting of her time, no mam ! he he PS Ross, I don't think the added expansion in width for that part of bow will slow you at all, but rather; it will make it possible to avoid bow digging into water, and lessening speed. Nicely Done !

The cat no doubt looks awesome, but I've got to say starting off with the molds was likely the best thing you did. Like the bow extensions, but maybe you should have made the shape of a dolphins head and painted them gray down the road. You should be proud!

Ross is don’t think the bulb will slow the boat down. On the contrary. By extending the waterline by half a meter or so, you should actually increase the speed potential of the boat, making up for any increase in water resistance by the bulb.

Howdy there Rossco. How is your knee these days? The end of this build is in sight WoW!! i read a saying the other day. If you can tell me why a round pizza is put into a square box and then cut into triangles, you will understand a woman's mind!! Becareful here because it is quite a simple answer and shows how women can compartmentalize a situation in order to make it work. It is actually quite ingenious... Ttfn

Basically went on to laminate the stem the next morning so in keeping with the chemistry and then straight to fairing, so chemical adhearnce essentially continuous .Thanks for commenting as you mentioned it is good pratice to retain the peel ply for cleanliness.Rossco

The bow additions were very well thought out thorough and up to your usual bullet proof standards.
