What a beautiful trailer! A true gem! So excited for you folks. Enjoy the journey! Suggestion....Make a checklist that is laminated for each vehicle, section of trailer... for example what things go in the truck, go in the the bed, go in the camper, what goes in the different storage areas. We bought several clear storage bins with lids to hold things in the cabinets. Those kept silverware & utensils, plates, bowls, cups from being tossed around or falling out of the cabinets if the latches let loose during travel. An oscillating fan mounted on the wall can circulate air & make the ac work better. A plug in portable heater will make the propane for the furnace go farther. Blessings from NW Florida!

My family and I (wife and 4 kids) are contemplating downsizing and moving into a truck and big trailer to save money and pay off debt. I’m in the military so it wouldn’t be to do the constant traveling life that most people do the RV life. Y’all are the first that I’ve seen plan to do it with horses! I wonder about how you will have constant hay for your horses and stuff like that, like where will you store it and where you buy it from on the road? That trailer looks to be in awesome shape for its age! I could have done without knowing that you don’t like American made vehicles though. (10:54) Try pulling that trailer fully loaded with a Nissan titan and see if it works out better for ya. Spoiler alert, it won’t, lol. Anyway, love your content! Good luck and safe travels!

It’s perfect! Seriously you cannot underestimate counter space when full-timing! I would try and figure out drawers for clothing not behind the bed…maybe hanging drawers in the bathroom for your folded stuff. This summer we learned that north will not save you from heat. But elevation sure helps!! It’ll be fun for you to plan your route! BLM and national forest free camping is my favorite but they can be twitchy about non local hey (invasive specious) so something to research wherever you wander! So excited for you guys!!

Before you head out, could you give us more info on the logistics of your trip, like how many miles you're planning, what horse-friendly camping stations are like, how long you plan to stay at campsites to get the most of your locations, what you're looking for in the places you're choosing to visit, what your plans are in the event of medial situations, how to prepare for the unexpected, what you're doing to prepare the horses, etc.? The trailer looks great btw. Best of luck to you as you near your starting date!

Praying for you guys to have safe travels and lots of fun. As a person that has hauled with just about all the truck brands ; just make sure you have a good insurance policy that covers the horses being hauled to a stable in an emergency. Hopefully you never need it but it’s worth the peace of mind. Maybe you could do the Fort Stanton (New Mexico) endurance ride next year in July. I may be there. 😅

My last truck was a diesel, my current truck is a gas. I don’t haul a trailer enough to warrant a diesel but if I was going to haul a trailer every day I would definitely look into getting one. They are a lot more expensive to run and maintain, but they don’t struggle hauling a heavy load up hill and at speed. I wonder if you could design a saddle rack that would pivot and lift out of the way so you could grab the first, move the rack out of the way and then swing the next to where it would be easier to grab hold of.

@@CarmellaAbelcheck out MaddiKempf trailer long haul must haves and tips on KZbin…. She talks a lot about what you need to have with the trailer at a minimum for emergencies…. And there is also roadside assistance, similar to AAA, but for horse trailers so you might look into that.
@livesoutdoors17082 ай бұрын
Try to be as minimal as possible. It’s tempting to fill all that space but be very mindful of weight you are hauling. Also get the very best tires you can afford and check your hubs often for heat and get a torque wrench for checking your lug nuts OFTEN. Oh and fire extinguishers everywhere within reach. 50 years hauling horses here. Have fun, go slow this lifestyle takes years to get comfortable with!
@featherkitty502 ай бұрын
The Tires on the truck look SO small! The gap from the top of the tire & fender is big! Lol It sounds fun, but I doubt the horses will like living on the road. It seems like it will be too stressful & dangerous for horses. And the people who have to make sure they are SAFE 24/7.

Those kind of trailer you don't find in europe. There are big trucks with a small living space for people who go on competition or shows like you name it. You find even trucks for more than 10 horses. In the netherlands and germany there are many people who compete with 4- 8 horses in one day. In a small country like the netherlands there are almost 4000 competitions yearly. And don't know how many shows, because there a show is without competition. And you can find shows with 50K visitors in 3 days. There are many tackstores, big as the american supermarkets. One brand has almost 20 sucursales or brances, and there are plenty of brands.😍 But in the states and canada you see them everywhere. It looks very nice and in good shape. But the living space is very small for living years. But it's a real solution. And it fits perfectly in your plans. But i wonder how you will make enough money to maintain you and your horses. Don't you know esme higss, from this esme in GB? She has a small truck, like there are many in europe for 2 horses, kitchen, tackroom, bed, dining place. But i never saw one like that in USA. But the living space is very small. I wish you luck in your Journey.
