In this weeks episode we head to a fantastic village music festival tucked in the Derbyshire hills. Once we return to the boats, we get some distance heading north. Unfortunately Emily isn't too well and so I take both boats down the Atherstone locks alone. Luckily the wonderful lockies are on hand to help!

Hello Ben and Emily - Self Build Campervans - Like yourselves I have a DIY converted van, a Peugeot Expert. I was recently "thrown out" of the C&CClub because I transport a little motorbike with me, in the rear compartment (Bulkhead is still in place) the bike is srapped in an area that "Could have been" a bed. With the Motorbike unloaded, I sleep on the floor on foam pad mattress. That does no comply with the CCC rules. Exactly how tent campers go on, I at a loss to know. It also has Induction plate Solar cooking, they don't consider that complies either!! Madness, yes, but it is spreading to private campsites too. The have it in for us!!! But we shall conquer them!! Beware of this if you intend using sites!! Nice video from Derbyshire - keep up the good work. John

I always put industrial hearing defenders on when hammering the pins (using a normal mallet). Got tinnitus working in ships’ engine rooms in the 1970s and don’t want to make it worse. I Like listening to music too much!

thanks for another episode Ben and Emily . we live a few miles from Atherstone . we used to walk the canal toe paths quite a few years ago and recognised the old hat factory and also when you filled with water at Hartshill . see you soon . love to Alan too . we have always taken our cats and our dog with us camping . we lost our dog Emma in 2017 at twenty years old . a Chihuahua Yorki cross . best wishes .

Wonderful to see you again, and my cat Kim has had her teeth cleaned as well. She had to have 3 removed, and one was fractured. She recovered fully within a few days with pain killers, so I have great sympathy for Alan. Bye for now.

I went camping near Matlock on a motorbike in the 1990`s. The pub landlord said it was ok to use the field. The next morning a car boot was setting up around us as we was still sleeping. I bet he was laughing. :)

With respect to the hammer for the mooring pins, try a nylon face dead-blow hammer. They don't bounce, so they put more force into the work. That would put more of your effort into driving the mooring pin and less into the mallet bouncing back into your face.
