"Business" executive summary for you: 5 universal goals for sustainable business: 1. Zero carbon - Lower our net carbon emissions to zero 2. Minimize the space we use - Employ new technologies that produce as much as possible from as little as possible 3. Return the ocean to good health - Take only what can be naturally replaced 4. Eliminate waste - Turn waste into resources in a circular economy model 5. Reimagine success - Change your belief that business is not for making money, but for improving society and protecting the environment.

@Pool Bal now thats a problem. Look to the marshall islands. These are drowning because of rising sea levels. And the us has dumped after testing the radioacrive waste in a pit on 1 of those islands and builded a concrete dome over it. It is slowly being capitalized by the ocean. No stopping that. If a comet landed on a nuclear waste dump the world will be in a nuclear winter. You have to tale things like that into account, because the waste has a halflife of what 200.000 years some even up to 15.000.000 years half life. ,😥 sad story

The beginning of the documentary is very good. Everything very beautiful, everything precious, nature, animals and plants ... everything precious, just as it is: a natural wonder. Then the other great appreciation for any sensible and critical person can appreciate: the agriculture that you show in the documentary is industrial agriculture, monoculture fields and monoculture greenhouses. Monoculture and, in general, industrial agriculture means the elimination of all life forms except the species to be commercialized. An ecocide for the extermination of all life, and genocide for chemicals, pesticides (insecticides, acaricides, fungicides ...) and synthetic chemical fertilizers (which kill all natural fauna and natural microorganisms). Industrial agriculture, misnamed conventional, is a madness that history books will point to as a crime against humanity (if humanity ever regains its senses). Tesco participates in this madness. Tesco is a British company that buys almost all the production from many industrial farmers in the Marina de Cope, in the Calnegre-Cabo Cope Regional Park in Murcia, and because of these industrial farmers, the dry river and the beaches are full of plastics, the beaches especially when it rains torrentially. Tesco is complicit because it is not interested in organic agriculture, it is only interested in the industrial without conserving the environment. The other big question that you do not refer to, self-consumption and energy companies. You show us images of large solar and wind farms. As for solar parks, destroying natural surfaces of hundreds of hectares to implant solar panels is neither ecological and not sustainable. It is destruction of natural spaces to put solar panels, it is reality. When solar panels can be installed on already built surfaces. In Spain we have more than 12,000 square km of artificial surface, where not all of this area can be used, but we can already take advantage of artificial surface to install solar panels: roofs of homes and industries, roofs of parking and lots for shopping centers, roofs of buildings public, roundabouts, street lamps in cities and roads ... We do not need to devastate natural spaces, but we must already take advantage of the artificial surface. You don't even mention this in your documentary. www.laverdad.es/lospiesenlatierra/xelio-reduce-planta-20190414005841-ntvo.html?ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F In short, you, with your industrial agricultural model and your energy model of large renewable energy parks, do not intend to defend nature or biodiversity, you intend to exterminate agricultural ecology, tradition and human life as we know it, in pro of an industry that tries to eliminate those that we are not necessary for its industrial capitalist model. WWF Adena, you are sold and complicit in the extermination of natural life and socio-cultural traditions attached to mother earth (traditional sustainable agriculture). WWF Adena, you are complicit in the destruction of the planet. Pablo AC

The sickening truth: To think people get offended when someone says Humanity is the cancerous tumour of Earth. We are doing literally exactly what a tumour does to a human body. Throwing the balance of cells that work together to keep the body in a stable and healthy condition completely off to the point all the cycles the body goes through begin to fall out of control, slowly and painfully our healthy body's vital functions begin to shut down till the lights go out for good. We deserve all the pain and suffering we receive and quite frankly, more.

We need education. If people know what is really happening we can all make a change. We need to show everyone what our planet is like, how delicate it is and how can we start having this "cyclical" life. Most of the people that are unaware of this in our planet are people in low income sectors, were most probably there is no education focused in the environment. There are people who can buy a big piece of steak and other who just can imagine it! Ones who eat meat daily and others who use energy for unimportant uses. We have to send this message to everyone!! Wether it is in in English, en español, på svenska and every other language. Is science, people are afraid of it because there is no enough information available for everyone. Even if some world leaders are doing something not everyone does, share the word. Please. What can I do? Talk to people who are close to me, tell them what is going on, what are we loosing, what can we do... And what will happen if we don't. It is not that hard to start a revolution from your bed.

As well as all life on the earth in the very near term due to the over 450 nuclear power plants that will meltdown once global civilization totally collapses. In Fukushima, Japan there are 3 meltdowns happening today with no predicted end in sight. The collapse will happen very quickly and shutting down a nuclear reactor takes approximately 50 years, never mind disposing of the deadly waste safely. Therefore, the toxicity will be such, according to some scientists, the atmosphere apparently will be stripped off of the planet.

Meditate, take small steps to transition from who you are to who you want to be and forgive yourself for what you were. Be compassionate towards everything within and around you. Our ability to advance technology has outstripped our level of collective consciousness. Documentary paints a chocolate box scenario. It is not. It didn't show you the plastic pollution, pesticide pollution, industrial pollution, transport pollution, water pollution etc. Technology will not resolve this. Humans Will continue to add to it. I'm from the 70s and not a "millennial" and since a child I have followed conservation and environmental issues. It has to this day saddened me greatly how humans have abused nature's offerings. I reuse and recycle waste. Live minimal. Shop in charity shops. Shop palm-oil free and eco-friendly. My diet has changed to reflect political issues, such as animal cruelty and intensive farming. I have reduced plastic consumption considerably. Our family home uses less water and we are careful how much clothing we wear so to reduce washing machine use. We walk everywhere and use public transport. Yes, we are not wealthy, and live within financial constraints. It's very hard. But I care very much about the planet I am leaving my child. Shop plastic free where retailers allow. It's very hard to change. It can be done. "Will" is what is needed by all businesses and corporations etc. Businesses, innovators, producers and manufacturers etc who are all trying to ensure they make money. We really need to wake up and smell the coffee! Our planet is being depleted of resources!!! We need to stop producing unnecessary items, luxuries, big cars, plastic, reduce meat consumption, reduce plastic consumption. Reduce what we eat so we don't waste. We are not preserving our world. We are not looking after it. We only care about ourselves. It will not change. It's not about creating more, coming up with more technology, needing more things, growing foods out of situ. It's about reducing our "wants" which have gone beyond need. Humans are not satisfied unless they are growing, expanding, reaping the free rewards that mother nature which provides for our benefit, at the demise of that which supports us and the living planet.

Most of the solutions you propose will actually keep business as usual and not solve the problem at all. Solar for example is nothing but clean energy. There a no unlimited ressources to produce solar cells, one solar panel works for 25 years and then goes to trash and can't be recycled. it might work for the 100 years or less but then what do you do. What is true about your documentary is the fact that we loose biodiversity and that our civilisation is at high risk of survival. One way we can survive is by reducing drastically our use of any kind of energy (energy to produce goods, food, objects...). That's the only way to keep some ressources for our research and development for the thousands years to come. I see almost only one solution to solve the antropocène issue is that most of humans goes back to the gardens and produce what they consume using only what nature provides.

Just a couple things that drive me crazy. Seeing people leaving Costco with cases of water bottles. How about water filtration system at home, like an RO system for instance. That’s what I use. Seeing grown men in the locker room at my gym leaving the water running while shaving. How did they get to that age thinking that was okay to do?

This documentary touches many important aspects however, it is only missing one very important mention. It understands that the world is finite and that we must reestablish equilibrium with our environment, we must all come together and live sustainable lives. Many of you are used to competition because in our current economic model, that is what drives the prices down, and we seek profit. The documentary does not explicitly mentions this and it is vaguely mentioned. In order to achieve the 5 goals they mention and how we perceive business today and what it needs to become, we will need to embrace different values where collaboration and sharing is at the heart of it all, an economic model that, instead of focusing on profit, focuses on other values such as recognition through innovation where people realize that it is in their best interest to protect all life around them because that benefits them as well and their own survival. We need a new economic model in order to achieve all this. And based on my research, a RBE, or Resource Based Economy, is the best adapted model given our current technological advances and to remain in line with nature's laws.

Pablo AC

A power lies within your generation. There will be no sustainability if humanity doesn't account for environmental impact as a cost of business. There is no metric for that so far (anyways that is ultimately complicated). Its only a profit that counts. Killing the planet is a benefit, a investment return. As the world is set up currently, it cannot stop, and one way or the other it will succeed in its world destruction goal. If you would like to get sth out of your college education (like answer to a main theme of your major) then find, push for a solution that actually makes sense. Drop out, if necessary. Don't be a victim of a brain washing. If you don't, it will definitely come to claim whatever you have or would hope to inherit before you pay off your education lone. That might sound a bit dramatic. But it's not. Treat it as factual as you can. Counting on you!

I wish there was a way to circumvent politics and introduce global standards limiting or stopping things like deforestation, overfishing, and pollution. Unfortunately, politicians will debate these issues into the 2030s, only passing the needed regulations far after it's become too late. Most of the world doesn't seem to care about problems 20-50 years away because the people in charge won't see the importance of these issues until the changes begin to impact their lives.

This video is full of alarmism and pushing special intererest groups agenda. The part with the wind park did it for me and I couldn`t watch further. Those things have been proven not be effective (neither by the amount of energy produced, nor the amount of money invested)...but are also quite damaging towards the enviroment. ...but my guess is that some companies invested in the alternative energy market "donated" money towards the video makers.

Now, this has been on my mind for a while and I thought this would be the perfect place to say this. I have not heard this anywhere, so I am going to say it: we need to reduce the worlds population to be able to survive. The number of people has increased, which means more CO2 is produced, and there are less trees, which means less CO2 can be exchanged for O2. People don't see the problem right in front of them and it is ridiculous. I see people who support renewable energy sources, but they have more than 2 children. Call me radical but by putting in place laws that limit the amount of children that people can have, we will be way better off by the next generation of people. More people=more land, more food, more cars, etc... People have become selfish and have only started thinking of their own family. "Everyone has a car for themselves because we don't want to ride the bus like poor people". People care more about their own social image and status than about their own lifestyle, and how much trash they produce, how much they ride the car, how much food they eat, etc... We won't save the planet if we buy a new phone very year, a new car every year, have 4 children each, throw all of the trash in one dumpster. People, especially older people, have to be taught of the importance of doing things to save the planet, because most of them think that they won't be on this earth a lot longer so they can live how they want. That mindset is what causes the extinction of animals, the death of ecosystems. We have to take steps. Less people, more trees, less meat, less carbon emissions by using more public transport and less fossil fuel powered vehicles, and driving alone the least we can. Stupid people and greedy people are causing this, and there are more of them because they procreate so much and teach their children their values, which ruins the planet. We need to do something soon because everyone saw this coming yet nobody is taking action except for going to marches, wasting paper and putting stories on Instagram for clout. Grow the fuck up and start doing you part and contributing back to society. The best examples are the northern European countries.

Unless we come to the point of treating other species, trees, insects, plants, wild life, as our relatives, we only postpone the coming ruptures. Reinventing business is mandatory, but business and its preemptions over people and the planets life and ressources should be reduced to give life space and people time, to breathe and find or rediscover creative solutions, traditional wisdoms, local medicine, materials, techniques, crops, which need no « business » or, someone making a profit over someone else, to function. Business has its place, but other form of social interaction should appear and also have their place too in addressing the ressources management and human values problem we have to deal with.

I've realized how crucial the content of this video is, not only for us but for the future generation! I chanced upon this while searching for materials for my Zero Waste series in the "9 Lives Kitchen" channel. I believe we should work together and create an impact thru educational awareness, before it's too late! 😪

Except he got in trouble and had to apologise, because the walruses was jumping off cliffs and he said something about it being because of global warming, when in fact, walruses have been doing that for decades and they swore nothing was around to spook them, all except the drone they had flying over them and a polar bear was creeping around up their too.

This is one of my favourite documentaries, I favour every episode and along with his voice. Wish I had the opportunities he had, as a kid I wish I could explore beyond my own country but never had the wealth or privilege. I was born to late.

we have to contribute individually in small ways in preserving these beautiful animals and beautiful earth. Governments all over the world are not taking or going to take any measure to save the planet despite meeting hundreds of times.
