@@diyfferent There are all kinds of variables at work, especially when relying on the Lord to direct your path. Priority is serving the Lord, His will and His timing and sometimes other things fall by the wayside when we want to be certain we’re not putting anything in front of Him. I know there were a LOT of upheavals and spiritual battles we encountered during our journey for the Lord’s perfect placement & family, friends and acquaintances all had opinions and expectations, but they don’t supersede our need for diligent devotion to waiting on our Lord’s still, small voice and sometimes can be a distraction. Editing to add: Your videos were a great support for us when we were in AR considering properties there and overwhelmed by the prospect of the amount of rehab we knew we’d need to take on. The Lord brought us elsewhere with even more serious projects ahead of us, but we’re grateful for you sharing your family’s experiences as well!

There certainly needs to be more change in agricultural practices which can only happen by training the next generation to break the destructive cycle that has been practiced for the past 7 or 8 decades. It is more of a ministry than many will admit, returning to the way God's creation was designed to work to our benefit. How I wish there was something like The Sound Farmer in Idaho! Our heritage farms are quickly being lost because the young people don't think they are worth the effort. These farms are being turned into subdivisions and commercial properties. We need someone who understands the land and how to make the land work for you to come in here and teach them how to keep our farm ground growing. Sadly, what once was a very godly state is fast changing and becoming more like the world every day. Southern Idaho is a high desert, both agriculturally and spiritually.

When you come through NC check out Eastern NC around the Washington, Beaufort County area. There is land available for homesteading along with a growing homesteading community. And a good homeschooling community. There is also a wonderful farmers market community at the Washington Harbor District Market. If you do decide to check it out a great church to visit is Harvest Church NC.

There is a lot of land available here, but the Northwest corner of Tennessee would be more economical for you. Mountain City and surrounding locals are beautiful areas. I to have a heart for regenerative agriculture. I am much past my prime, but there may be ways I could help once you get a farm established. I live about 400 miles from Knoxville, in Indiana. I was very involved in teaching farmers to move to no-till farming in the 80’s and 90’s. I feel that was the first step towards a regenerative mindset. I will be watching to see what develops in your pursuit of a homestead.

Our life experiences are so similar. First, I love the Lord with all my heart and old enough to be your grandma. Both my grandparents were small dairy farmers in the fertile farmland just west of the Mississippi in NW WI. One of them's family came from Sweden and Norway to farm. The other's came mostly from Switzerland to do the same. It gets pretty cold in WI in the winter, but there is much great land for farmers here. I have lived mostly in WI, but spent a decade in AL and SC. I loved the south, but when it comes to being out on farmland , I much aporeciate the fact there are hardly any poisonous critters up here to accidently step on. While in AL, I had to fish a copperhead out of my swimming pool at least once a week. I would rather deal with the bears and other larger critters than to put my hand down to weed a garden and then notice the snake curled up a foot away. Maybe that's just me. You would have that in TN too. Even along the Mississippi in Southern WI there are rattlesnakes. There are even very few poisonous spiders this far north (about 50 miles north of Eau Claire, WI noow). It was a bit of challenge for me to get used to the critters where it's warmer. And the summer heat is incredible complete with hurricanes and tornadic storms. I will pray God picks the perfect place for you. I know in my spirit we are very close to a joint spiritual and political upheavel in the US and feel the Lord may use you when the upcoming revival breaks out!

I love your vision. I have experience with raising chickens, sheep, goats and pigs , vegetables, fruit trees, berries … I have a desire to teach others organic permaculture type methods and help them physically, and spiritually. I want to also teach young people nursing. I am a spirit filled 64 year old Registered Nurse. I own a home & 2 acres in Connecticut. I would love to have you come and stay at my home. Having been involved in Christian ministry for 40+ years, you backstory is not surprising. Being a pastor is probably more challenging than being a farmer.. In our church I have seen several pastors come and go, and we have had big problems along the way. This is because Satan is also at work in our churches to make things difficult. I am praying for your next venture in Tennessee or North Carolina, and being interested in permaculture myself, I may find myself in one of your classes!
