As a Newcastle fan I don't understand why Lewis is arguing with the predictions. With champions league football I would be over the moon with 6ths and wouldn't argue with a Chelsea team that's playing a hell of alot better than last year finishing above us.

I think Newcastle could easily get to top 4 this season only City, Arsenal, and Liverpool look like they could finish top 4. United need a complete reset most of the players don’t fit Ten Hags system. Chelsea on paper look good but they aren’t clicking. Really ? I think they're being quite pessimistic. United are absolutely finishing above Liverpool, it begs to be seen if they can catch up with arsenal but I think Ten Hag is absolutely cooking at the moment. A complete spine change in the team and increased squad depth, players adapting to his system and young players coming in are all going to work to their advantage.

I really dont get the hype around ManU. they were not a good team last year, they were a fairly average team. If Liverpool hadn't lost some very silly games against lower tier teams, they would've finished 3rd. United scored 58 goals last season to amass 75 points. That, more than any other team that finished in the top 6 is a blip. The lowest goals in the past 10 years by a team that got 3rd was Chelsea in 2018/19 to get 72 points on 63 goals to finish 3rd. The average goals/season for 3rd place the past 10 years is 69...United need to find at least 10 more goals to even keep 3rd. And I don't think they have a deep enough attacking squad to achieve that. They also conceded 43 which is also above by the mean by 7 goals. their GD for the season of 15 is less than half the mean for any team that finished 3rd the past 10 years. That Chelsea team in 2018/19 had a GD of 28...In other words, I think a United regression is more likely than them holding 3rd.

utd played the most games in europe last season bar man city, won the league cup, fa cup final with a worse squad than we have this season with players settling in ten hags system and addressing most of the key positions we needed and in the league we only finished 9 points behind arsenal who had to sacrifice all their domestic competitions and europa league to maintain their league position. arsenal have strengthened massively so im not saying its clear utd will finish above them but it can go either way in this current time.

Their midfield is worse than United's and lacks depth. An injury to one midfielder and the balance is completely off as there isn't another player who can do Partey or Rice's job even close to the same level whereas United will have quality depth in all midfield positions. United just have a better spine than Arsenal do. Finished only 3 games behind Arsenal with Wout Weghorst as the main ST while playing more games in all competitions.

I don’t disagree with City as second place. I think they are almost going throw a small rebuild with the players they’ve lost. Think they’ll start the season slow. Also if KDB gets injured we don’t have any creativity to replace him.
