you arent incorrect but i think us, meaning the collective f1 community, are extremely quick to write off rookies with subpar results even though nowadays they barely have any time to get up to speed. when hamilton was a rookie for example, mclaren had essentially an unlimited amount of personal testing time to give him to get up to speed. i think modern rookies deserve at least an entire full season to prove their worth.

A thing to point about Fernando Alonso's Q3 lap: He said on the spanish broadcast (and I put the direct quote) "We suffered in free practice 3, we were not comfortable. We made some changes. I am very happy with the lap. I told my engineer that I wouldn't have improved it even if I had stayed up all night trying. The position is what it is, you have to accept it. We are not as strong as other teams". So we can confirm that 7th was all that car had in qualy.

Even I, a Dutchman isn't even sad that max didn't get pole. Makes the race for today (it's already race day here) more interesting. He has won from shittyer grid positions. I think there is a huge possibility that we will see him in the top 5. Winning not sure, but with right strategy calls they can make it to top 5. He could also take an extra 5 place grid penalty getting a fresh engine and gearbox for Japan. For now I'm writing this weekend off as an fluke. Shit happens

We need to note that Red Bull brought some upgrades and the car looks like it drives noticeably different than before. The rear tires just struggled to maintain grip on corners after braking. It was just really off balance.

Ricciardo is a known entity with massive marketing potential and I is likely to be in one of the cars, so the scrap is most likely between Yuki and Liam.
