Ievan, with capital I, Polkka. Names are written with capital letters.

It amazes me how every channel that reacts to this makes the same mistake. I would have thought that it was obvious that the name is capitalized.

@@MaxSujyNorden You don't have to know that Ieva is a person's name, because song titles are capitalized. Thunderstruck isn't a person's name but it's still capitalized.

I love how in the quartet version of this song the guy's part is clearly easiest but also essential to the cohesiveness of the whole thing. I'm trying to learn it to be able to sing along.

There's an earlier recording available of the song: "IEVAN POLOKKA, Matti Jurva ja Ramblers-orkesteri v.1937". Ievan Polkka is a rabbit hole. You can find numerous versions of it. One popular A Cappella version is this one: "TUULETAR - Ievan polkka (Loituma COVER)". Here's one performed with accordion, banjo and a suitcase: "Slack Bird - Ievan polkka". The funny thing is that there are these popular dance remixes of that old Finnish polka song: "Nightcore - Ievan Polkka (VSNS Remix)". Speaking of accordion music, Finnish American Viola Turpeinen was a popular accordionist in the North America: "ELLIN POLKKA (Evan polkka), Viola Turpeinen harmonikkasoolo v.1953". If the subject interests you, here's a documentary relating to her: "Yooper Creoles: Finnish Music in Michigan’s Copper Country". One Finnish song and dance, which has gone global, is this one: "Colin Watt Letkajenkka".

That is a great Finnish song originally from 1928 which became a meme about 20 years ago. The verses are in strong eastern dialect of Finnish and the chorus is just gibberish.

Not Leva, Ieva aka Eava... Eva is the base form the name, Finnish version is Eeva, in Eastern Dialects Eeva is either pronounced as Ieva ( with i as the first letter) or as Eava.... But not Leva...
