I've seen some speculation that there could be a "The Path" show coming along after The Bad Batch is over. Across some of the recent shows and games we've seen a fair bit of The Path, and it could be interesting to have a show about them. Ventress could be back along with Quinlan, you could get Merrin in there from Jedi Survivor, any characters that survive this last season of The Bad Batch, and maybe Tala from the Kenobi show depending on what year they set it.
@Platschu7 ай бұрын
@@gazzamanazza4pm I am wondering whether Ventress will meet Ashoka and the mothers of the Nightsisters. I mean her backstory is heavily built on them so it would be interesting to see what side she will chose in the upcoming Tarkin related storylines.

The end of Dark Disciple literally had them lay Ventress to rest on Dathomir and had dark spooky night sister magic fog envelop her body. So it's not fair to say there wasn't some implication she would return tbh. The door wasn't just left cracked, the door was taken off its hinges that's how open the door for her return was.

So, I think Omega is going to be the vehicle by which we explore The Hidden Path more. Ventress & Quinlan with Omega and whoever else they can fit would be epic storytelling. I've enjoyed Omega so much more this season and would really like to see her continue on her journey. She's become one of my favorite SW characters after really being ambivalent about her at the start of the series. The thing about this episode that really struck me was just how damn good Nika Futterman is.

She was going to die on-screen but Disney cancelled The Clone Wars so her story had to be ended that way. Instead what's the problem with it beibg in book? Perfectly good stotytelling medium. Most of Star Wars greatest moments are in books. What they should've done is adapt Dark Disciple now instead of this.

I think Eric's experience is actually a benefit of showing Ventress in the trailer. Because this is an inclusion of a character who had died, people could process that reveal before seeing the episode. The trailer still left the question of exactly how Ventress would factor in.

As much as I enjoyed Dark Disciple, I've always been disappointed that we never got to see the end of Ventress on-screen. My opinion has always been that a character introduced on-screen (either animated or live) should not be killed off in a book because not everyone who watched the animated series is going to read that novel. In fact, I personally find it more understandable that Ventress returned, especially compared to Maul or the Emperor, because at least those characters had fitting ends in their respective films. If the Dark Disciple storyline had been animated like it's original intention, then I would admittedly be more weary of Ventress's return (because I do want Star Wars events to have consequences), but in this case, I'm actually happy we get to see more of Ventress, as long as they properly explain how she survived in a future episode or series.
@Johnson951theviewer7 ай бұрын
For me, the shock of her return has soured me to all Non TV and Movie stories. I consume alot of non tv Star Wars Media and now they have me feeling like there is no point in reading these stories.
@dragonhunter13157 ай бұрын
I can understand them wanting to bring Ventress into a show. Despite me being a huge The Clone Wars fan since 2008 and reading Dark Disciple novel (which is based on 8-episodes long unfinished story arc) where she dies, i'm fully aware that not everyone's read the book, so many people are not aware of her story's conclusion. But at the same time there is a part of me that is a little peeved since Disney made a promise 10 years ago that everything would be canon going forward (a promise they pretty much have given up on these last several years)
@GhoulishGwyn7 ай бұрын
The official Star Wars website confirmed the events of the book are still canon. Her return will be explained in future content.
@theunknownuser96097 ай бұрын
They still changed the ending. It was definitive. Also they've made the book retroactively worse. What was a cathartic beautiful conclusion for the character becomes pointless emotional manipulation because she survives.
@mr.stuffdoer84837 ай бұрын
Frankly they never should’ve made that promise. Star Wars has always been a franchise with varying levels of canon. Initially it was anything Lucas did was hard canon, everything else was soft canon until Lucas did something to decanonize it. That wouldn’t be a horrible way to keep things. I don’t think it’s wild of me to say the books and comics should only be quasi-canon. The amount of those that release is completely overwhelming, even compared to the amount of animated content. And Lucas barely even cared about them in his time. For me, shows and movies are hard canon, games like the Jedi duology are soft canon, where they are canon but likely won’t ever be more directly called back to, and books and comics are Schrödinger’s canon; they are canon until hard canon replaces them, like Caleb’s order 66 scene.

Love how the episode did show us how the Bad Batch are kinda an obstacle to Omega's potential. If Omega is force-sensitive(which this episode kinda leaned me to say she probably is) really hoping that Omega doesnt become a jedi. Been wanting them to explore force-users that arent jedi or sith that go their own way and develop their own abilities without any traditional jedi training. Its still up in the air the things that Omega demonstrates could be just her enhancements or force abilities or both tbh.

Too many characters being brought back from the dead. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I think we’re up above 20 or so now for the franchise in canon by my count. It’s a joke, destroys all stakes and meaning for the story and makes me Uninterested in whatever they do. Still haven’t even tried Bad Batch season 3 because I’m that turned off by it which is ironic because they were probably thinking it should get more people interested not the opposite. The main thing is it’s disrespectful to the stories that came before and undoes in most cases great endings for the characters that you’re not going to be able to top and they can’t live forever so they die eventually again but you’re not going to care about it because you’ll always think about how much better and more fitting the first one was and then you’ll always think, well one day when they run out of ideas they’re just gonna be brought back again. I would honestly feel comfortable betting Palpatine will return one day again. Not that I care anymore I just have my own head canon now and stuff like this isn’t in it. But preferably you have no one come back from the dead in your franchise, generally it’s ok if you do it once depending on the story, circumstances, meaning and effect max twice. For Star Wars it should’ve been Maul and that’s it. Ahsoka surviving rebels as the second if you had to though tbh I’m still mixed on that and not completely sold, I think her end should’ve still been in rebels and she is my favourite character in the franchise. For the other 18 characters or so I don’t know to either laugh or cry with how stupid the writers are and their blatant disregard for the franchise and basic storytelling rules
@theunknownuser96096 ай бұрын
You and I have pretty much the same feelings although I'm good with Ahsoka not dying since if you rewatch the finale of Twilight Of the Apprentice you see her for a split second go down the stairs and you don't really see her dying unlike say Ventress in Dark Disciple which was completely definitive. What's even worse about Ventress is that it could've been another character who is canonically alive like say Quinlan Vos which would've made perfect sense. She literally shows up in one episode and never shows up again in the whole season, they don't even mention her in the later episodes.
@Jordan-gp3mj7 ай бұрын
Maybe she’s so much more cranky BECAUSE she was brought back😂. You can tell she’s tired as she strains to use the force. But if she and Quinlan were an item, just surprised she didn’t just go look for him. Or maybe that’s what she’s doing with the M-count connection.

Now you guys saying she died. Well until they say what happened to her in a series like Tales or future stuff. I aint telling my Da. Oh she died and now she back. This is too many levels deep to know outside stuff for all canon. Like needing to know TV stuff for film. Or animated series for TV And Now books for an episode for animation. Im sticking with she was just “out there” and now she is back.
