Thank you very much for the detailed video on your hotel stays. That was very helpful. We are planning on going to Rome in 2024. How much was the Atellier 800 hotel per night?

Great video and I recently subscribed. Hopefully you can provide some guidance. Will be arriving at Port of Civitavecchia and planning on going to stay in Rome for 3 days in March 19 to 22, 2024. We are bringing our parents with us aged 70 and 71 and would ask you the following questions. 1. Which hotels based on your experiences would you stay since we are bringing our parents 2. Also any advise that you may have with regards to arriving from our cruise at Port of Civitavecchia to Rome would also be helpful. 3. Do you have any recommendations on a tour bus for our parents 4. Any other advise you feel may be helpful would surely be appreciated 5. How much was the taxis, was it affordable or do you have an alternative Thank you.

1- of the hotels we’ve stayed at and our friends have stayed at in Rome we would recommend the Hive Hotel. It’s near the train station and centrally located to all of the major touristy areas 2-the easiest way to get to Rome from the cruise port is to take the shuttle from the cruise port to the train station and then the train from Civitavecchia to Rome. The train costs about 12€ per person and takes about an hour. 3- we didn’t do any tour buses but there are several companies out there. We’d suggest going onto a site like Viator and seeing what your options are. There are a ton of different types and lengths of tours you can do and Viator puts them all in one spot to book. 4- other advise- get to the major tourist attractions early in the morning before crowds, especially places like Trevi and St Peters. If you decide to tour the Vatican book a night time tour to avoid the crowds and to have more time to enjoy each section with out running into a sea of people. Barnum is one of the best places for breakfast, an we’d recommend Tonnarello for a good dinner. 5- you can book taxis and black cars in the Uber app. They’re around 10€ for a taxi and 20€ for a black car depending on time of day and where you’re going. This is what we did when we didn’t want to walk.

How is the ac in the hive hotel? Planning on booking there

It was cold. No issues what so ever with the AC. Hope you have an amazing trip.

How long did it take you to get from the cruise port back to the airport?

We used a black car service to get from the cruise port to the hotel and it was roughly an hour and 15 minutes. The cruise port to the airport by car is roughly the same amount of time

We got off of the ship around 9am. Our friends got off of the ship at 8am. 11am may be cutting it close, though you could request the earliest debark time and get off the ship around 630-7

You can go to customer service at any time during your cruise. There’s also a survey on the app after like day 3 where you can select what type of debark time you want.
