I appreciate all you do for the hobby sir! I think you help people a lot with these videos, and seeing how a well run card store works. I'm just starting out, but I plan to use some of the items you've mentioned one day when I can afford them. Right now I'm doing things with an old printer, and cell phone to list, and I'm doing ok. I can see why you need some of those things, like a scanner, once you start ramping up. Hopefully, one of these days I'll be where you are. But until then, thank you for these types of videos, and all you're doing for the hobby!

Thanks for sharing this. Agree with the shift to card savers. I’ve done that myself. Much more versatile item. I still use traditional top loaders to ship higher $$$ cards. Not at the volume where a thermal printer or the scanner make sense yet but it’s awesome to know those are out there when I need them. Thanks again, I really enjoy your content!

I disagree with not putting masking or painters tape over the top of the top loader. The tape helps pinch the top slit to avoid the card sliding out of the sleeve/top loader. I've seen this happen even inside team bags. I always place painters tape, then place inside a team bag with tape side entering first help with potential water damage protection too. Also notice I didn't say scotch tape, people who use scotch tape on top loaders deserve lashings from the hobby gods.

No worries... some will def disagree on that one. It's a big reason I shifted to Graded Sleeves + Card Savers.... Cards don't shift out of card savers... in addition, the Graded Sleeves allow you to fold down far enough to create a solid amount of tightness on savers/loaders. 100% on same page with scotch tape. :-)

@@CHASINGCARDBOARD I actually had a few cards on some of my purchases that were shipped in a semi-rigid / large team bag or graded card sleeve still slip out both the sleeve and semi-rigid. I would have to look at what Monday Mail Day videos those were but there's video proof of it. Always worries me when I submit to grading companies as I also place all the semi-rigid (Qty. 10 to be exact) in a graded card sleeve but like you said that helps them stay compress/cinched down once sealed.

I definitely disagree especially if you are using the shipping under 20 in an envelope. Had a few get damaged that way even with thin cardboard. I went back to top loaders in a team bag with tape and never had a problem. Been selling cards on eBay since 2000 and quickly learned buyers expect tape in top loaders.

Great informative video. What do you think is the best way to store sets? In albums so they can be viewed or in a set box where there protected but it’s a pain to try to look at them. Great video I love chasing cardboard and the show too. Keep up the awesome content.

Up to you. Sometimes card sleeves over time aren’t the greatest. We store some of our higher end sets in top loaders.

I use the semi-rigids to ship player lots (up to 12 cards) via standard envelope. I have so many toploaders that I reuse them for singles.

Awesome awesome video! Thanks as always! Quick question, do you have a lower end / cost efficient scanner you'd recommend? I know you swear by the V600, but at that price point and the quantity of cards I am listing it doesnt make sense to me right now. Is there something else out there you think would work? I randomly googled Epsons V39, .. any thoughts here? Let me know, keep up the great content! Come to Minnesota sometime, great shows all around! #KeepChasing!

Good question.... I don't have experience with any lower end flat beds... I've heard the Epson V550 is a good compromise ($150ish)... but the V600 at $300ish still feels like what you should be aiming for. That's my quick feedback.

Thanks for another great video. I have a question I can't find anywhere maybe you could help or one of yours viewer's that read this. I have the ES feed scanner and scanning any cards with crome always comes out dark. Ive even put the brightness to max and still dark...if you have any tips or tricks I would appreciate it..thanks and keep up the great videos

I have to say, even with the cards in a team bag, the cards will still slide up and poke out of the top of the top loader. It happens to me 99% of the time when they don't use painters tape on the top loader. I use painters tape, cut 2 pieces of cardboard the size of the top loader and then put the top loaded card in between the cardboard inside the team bag. My ebay customers love my packaging and have never had any negative reviews. Great video! I appreciate it so much as I learned a few things. Thank you!

Sounds like more of a top loader problem. :-) Our solution to that is make that fold over really really tight on the graded card sleeve…. Or… Use Card Savers instead of Top Loaders. Either way, great feedback. Thanks for watching!!!!

In my opinion this is a great video for the more advanced seller. If you are just starting out please dont go buy a $1000 scanner! Love the content here and not knocking it, its just a little much for the beginner to average reseller.

Fair enough. For the casual seller, you could probably get away with taking pictures on your iPhone.

You can definitely get away with using your phone while starting out. If that is your situation & route you are taking while growing, you need to absolutely invest in a light box (with lighting integrated into the light box) to take pictures of cards you are listing. It greatly enhances the quality of your pictures and you will consistently get 15%-30% more money on average for your listings and auctions (Especially with refractors, etc.). It will pay for itself faster than you think. It's a game changer. I've seen examples of bad pics getting $30 for a card. While someone using a light box pic for that same card gets $140. It allows the buyers to really see any flaws the card might have. It is the biggest bang for your buck I can recommend to increase profits.

Noob Question.... When it comes to your Mailers. Are you using the Flat rate mailers as extra padding or is that the rate that you charge on ebay for shipping? I.E. I ship First class almost always (unless its a sub $10 card). is using the Flat rate Pricing better? or is it just extra padding for your packages?

I agree with a piece of tape on the loader cause I have received cards that have slid out in shipping even in the bag they can get bent then! But I just love a damn paper envelope with a card saver in it sliding around and it’s been belt fed through scanners at USPS and mashed and then it’s bent and corners are damaged!! I wish NO SELLER USED A PLAN ENVELOPE WITHOUT PADDING!!!!

taping the top of the toploaders is NOT the way to ship! THANK YOU! i was just not arguing but exchanging opinions with a seller on ebay.he literally put EIGHT pieces of tape around a 3 dollar corey seager card i bought.i ended up damaging the card trying to get it out wich prompted me messaging him.was trying to just nicely tell him because if hes doing that with every card im sure im not the ohnly one this has happened to.but he firmly said he had been doing it for years and would continue to do so...i kind of wish i could send him the part of the video where you say ITS NOT in slo mo lol
