I hope Rocco realizes when we say we want a comfy set, we mean we want a cozy-looking set for the viewer. Rocco's point at 2:03 is like saying Howl's Moving Castle isn't a comfort movie because the animators were overworked & the characters were in an old house in the middle of a war. It doesn't have the viewer in mind. M64 is a friendship simulator, we want to be hanging with the boys around a campfire, in a living room, at the arcade, or in a pirate hideout. The new one-long-desk set feels like I'm watching professionals give me the news or something like The View. You can make the set comfortable for you with the right furniture and still make it feel informal for the viewer. Peace & love.

I did some research and found what I think is the origin of “clown nose on, clown nose off”. It’s from a National Review article from years ago, criticizing Jon Stewart for supposedly vacillating between making serious political points (“clown nose off”) and then shielding himself from criticism of those points by saying “hey I’m just a comedian!” (“clown nose on”). All in all: very stupid!
