We just gave birth to our third earthside baby and wanted to share our birth story for anyone that has ever experienced a C-Section after a VBAC. The birth was not an easy one but it was by far the best experience we have had as we got to bring home our rainbow baby to our two sweet little girls.

i love that while Will knows about pregnancy and labour, he also knows when to step back and let Sana take the helm. it really seems like the bare minimum, but so many fathers don’t really understand what’s going into the creation of their child. Will, your respect for your wife and family is so admirable, and your ability to ease a difficult situation with humour is such a blessing. I’d say Baruch Hashem, but i think you’d understand better if i say “Alhamdulillah.”

Three c-sections here, three gorgeous healthy babies from them. Oldest is 29, middle is 22, youngest is 18. Wouldn’t change a thing.

As a labor nurse, I very much appreciate hearing this, and the joy it gives me to know how much you and Will both fully understand everything that happened, and why, and that while it may not have been the plan, you took it all in stride. Every pregnancy is different- For my first, they also stuck the monitor on my daughter’s head, had a midwife who stuck a large cone like object into me to break my water, Had episiotomy. Second birth I did more reading and asked for epidural as soon as I got to my room! Third and final birth, same took epidural, my lady doctor was wonderful! All three births I threw up as babies came out! All three babies developed jaundice- I treated at home by putting baby next to window for sunlight! Congratulations on your beautiful children! You are so right God is in control best thing to do is pray!

My son was born on his due date. The day before fathets day. We never thought we could have children so right after our 14th wedding anniversary we were blessed with a son....he too was sunny side up and contractions were every 2 mibutes with no time to breath. Epidural was given and we waited 10 hours before my ob decided on a c-section. My ob was in the hospital napping while waiting. He did not want anyone but him and the nurses there working with me.

Oh I know that feeling. I have a very traumatic emergency C-section with my 4th baby my rainbow, after 3 easy vaginal deliveries (and two losses). As traumatic as it was and as bad as I felt that I had failed I thank God daily that my daughter was born safe and healthy. And for the nurse who advocated for us and waited to administer Pitocin against the doctors orders. The doctor told me later that there was a high possibility that we would have both been lost if I’d delivered vaginally. Thank you for sharing your incredible story. You are NOT a failure for having a c section!! I had 4 babies, 3 pregnancies and was told that my bone structure would never let me have children naturally after the first delivery. She was an emergency. My other two pregnancies were scheduled c sections. You have nothing to feel bad about!!!! I’m so happy for you and your new addition!

OB PA student here! One of the main reasons why they have the supporter sit and not watch is becuz so many ppl say they can handle it and they faint. Its reallyy not ideal becuz thats a whole other human you gotta worry about and fill out a report and blah blah lol. So yeah . But im so happy for u guys ! My son was born 22 years ago last month, and my birth story was so similar to yours. I was 23 when he was born. I felt like such a failure as well, I got to the hospital that day at 7am, he was born at 851 pm due to preeclampsia and failure to progress. My contractions were very very severe, yet I didn’t dilate at all, not a cm, they stopped Pitocin. I believe they gave me med to counteract the pitocin, It’s been 22 years, I don’t recall exactly. I remember how absolutely beautiful he was, he still is at 22. It was such a hard day, a long day, yet an absolutely wonderful day! I look back at it as such a wonderful time in my life. Although he didn’t sleep through the night for 18 months. My late father (2012) and my late sister (2016) were there with us through labor and hours after he was born. The best day of my life, cherished memories. There is nothing like the day he came into my life. Children are such precious gifts, truly. Congratulations to you’re family!

And the what ifs are exactly what having your faith in Allah is there for…and honestly I feel like sometimes, in times like this, our faith in Allah is healthier than just trying, in futility, to try and control every little detail, micromanage every minute detail, which obviously we can’t. I had almost the same issues with my daughter. The back to back contractions with the epidural and my daughter had d cels. My ob came in and said " I know it's not what you wanted but we have to do an emergency c section" cried for like 5 seconds and under 5 minutes I was in the operating room. Got my baby girl and baby snuggles. Congratulations on your baby boy

I am so sorry your birth didn't go the way you guys wanted it to go.☹ As a labor nurse my heart always breaks when things don't go as planned. But I am so glad that everyone is safe and thriving. The reason they had Will sit instead of stand is because they didn't want him to pass out 😆 the monitor that goes on top of the baby's head is called a fetal spiral electrode and you're totally correct that it's super accurate when we are monitoring baby.

This brings back memories of my csections. In Australia, we have skin to skin immediately in the OR unless Mum or baby needs immediate medical care. Both my boys had their first breastfeed in recovery and we were also left alone. I stayed in hospital for 6 days though in a private room and had the midwives dote on us 😊 they were amazing 👏🏼

Oh my gosh, how glorious is skin to skin???? I never realised how amazing it is, until my 3rd baby. Any chance I got, I was skin to skin with him. Nursing, showering, sleeping. Every moment I could. He has always showered with me, and we have always done skin to skin. He's now 2.5years, and he's the biggest mummas boy. Soak it up! Get as much skin to skin as possible!!!!! Every moment you can! It's magical! ❤

Both my beautiful babies were born via C-section my daughter was a scheduled C-section due to being 13 months after my sons birth and my son who is my first was born emergency C-section and was 41 weeks plus 3 days he was very comfortable and refused to exit so I completely understand why you feel the way you feel! We all want to have natural birth but these babies can be stubborn. Just remember he’s healthy and strong you brought a beautiful baby into this world and he’s gonna have a beautiful life! I had 2 csections as well and the first one I had a lot of self blame that I didn't do it naturally but the way I look at it now is that they both were safe and healthy as that truely is what matters. ❤️❤️❤️
