I was there in May. Stayed at Velero Beach Resort, just down the street from Janet's. I loved it! Going back in August! It was Hot!!!😊

Great little place to stay and visit. Felt safe there. We’ve stayed in Punta Cana and this was much better. Enjoy it in August! It’s always hot!! lol

@lifeoftheharriss6247 yes there is a bank there as well as an money exchange. We did the exchange. It’s right across the street from the bank. I didn’t think of the bank so I don’t which one is has a better rate. It was 58 pesos per 1 dollar.

Canadian here ! We have a condo in Encuentro Cabarete ! We spend a lot of time there and never had an issue with safety .Super friendly town with loads of expacts

Please reflect on your visit accurately, …you get what you pay for! DR is as safe as you make it, like plenty of other places throughout the world! “Dominicans are known for shotty workmanship”!?!?! …That is anywhere, relative to the cost

I’m Dominican. Don’t get bent out of shape. lol It’s my assessment. My relatives are rich. I’ve been to their houses. Compared to here the work doesn’t compare. It’s just what I’ve witnessed. We have higher regulations here. Same goes with construction workers on the job. OSHA would never permit some of the hazardous conditions they work under.
