We're moving into our jungle treehouse! The rainforest cabin is so magical at this time of year so we’ve been spending some time camping up in the treetops, cooking on the fire and swimming in the lake! / motherthemountain

We are sisters, Julia and Anastasia Vanderbyl. A few years ago, we began a journey to live a life in perfect harmony with nature. A life of caring for animals, growing fruit, planting trees, gardening, cooking, creating, building and learning to live with the land. In this time, nature has taught us more than we could have ever imagined.
Our environmental films document the landscape, the lessons we’ve learnt and our work as regenerative farmers here on Bundjalung Country. We live on the land of the Arakwal and Minjungbal People of the Bundjalung Nation. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Country we live on and recognise their continuing connection to the land and waters. We thank them for protecting this rainforest and its ecosystems since time immemorial.

How do you guys make coin? do you hope to find partners out there, or not interested? Like what is your long term plan for your respective lives? I would be interested in a farmstead experience also. I have a major interest in ornithology (study of birds) and would love to hang out and work with you both while studying the bird life around your area! I enjoy trying to identify some of the birds by ear in the background of your videos. I believe I hear Kookaburras occasionally! Thanks for the inspiration and stress relief, you are both amazing people!

Seeing the possibility of an alternative life is absolutely heart touching for me... I've always felt a bit misfit with society's dynamics... and I've always felt a bit lost and annulled by the life we're taught to live... I discovered by chance a youtube channel of a girl who lives in a van and she is so funny and her attitude and courage are being a life lesson for me... Now I've discovered you two and I can't even describe what I feel... I want to change my life and recently I've been trying to compile a set of thoughts and ideas into a book... I don't know if this will go anywhere, but I feel it's what I have to do... I really don't know what will become of me, but I am genuinely grateful that people like you exist because it gives me hope that a better life is possible! I love the landscape in your videos!! After roasting/charring bell peppers, wrap them in a towel, place 'em in a ziplock bag, making a steambath, let 'em sweat, cool off, then the skins easily peel off, blackened bits and all! My late Mom did this.🫑And whole roasted bell peppers can be hollowed out, filled w cheese, dipped in egg batter and fried for chili rellenos! Thanks for the magical vlog! I like your little tree house. I also like the fact that you have your own swimming hole/spot. I grew up in Florida so if we wanted to go swimming in a place like that we really had to watch out for alligators and venomous snakes. You all live in such a beautiful place.
