Have you tried listening to Red Velvet's Marionette?? It is part of their Wildside japanese album, they sampled the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and it is also so good. I've tried commenting about this through your other videos, but it's been 2 years already, I hope you can react to it.pleasee and thank you!

I don't know if the orchestra parts were something from classical music or if it was composed for the song but I recommend trying SS501 songs like LoveYA. They have a real orchestra in the MV for that song. One of their members did the same in the song Not Alone - Park Jung Min. They are the reason I started to love K-pop back in 2013 because I hadn't heard anything like that before. I feel like lots of songs, that were released around that time, had something similar or rearrangement of the songs in an orchestra style (ex Haru Haru - Big Bang had an orchestra version). This is why I absolutely loved it when Stray Kids brought an orchestra for LaLaLa. In all 3 cases, real orchestra is present

I just knew Red Velvet's Feel My Rhythm is on the list. RV may not be the first kpop group to do this classical music sampling but it's no doubt they brought this trend back. FMR will forever be one of the iconic releases from RV, music and concept-wise.

Feel My Rhythm is sheer genius. If you haven't listened to a clean instrumental version of the song yet, I highly recommend it. Your appreciation for it will grow that much more. Of course, the only thing that could make it better are those girls' heavenly vocals.

These are such excellent picks (of course), and Kevin's mind explosions for both his own #3 pick and Umu's #3 picks are so fun ("they did not 😐"). Impossible to miss Feel My Rhythm with all its clever plays. Golden Age in particular is a really faithful use of the referenced classical piece too! If I had to add my personal favorite here, even though it's not a classical piece (but instead, a 1930s tango piece), CRAXY has a song called "Nugudom" which is a truly wild interpolation of "Por Una Cabeza", and I love it to bits! It goes beyond the direct reference in the intro, actually using the melody and harmony together as strings and vocals in the 2nd half of the chorus.

Yay, Kevin redemption! I was aghast when he called the Rachmaninoff sample in Bye My Monster sappy because Hwang Hyun said it's a song about the inner self written from the depth of his emotions, and he crafted it specifically for ONF. (Umu I know I can count on you and I hope you're going to ONF's NA tour!) I was so happy to also see Fantasy, Topdog (doesn't get enough appreciation), and of course Feel My Rhythm here. Overall another enjoyable video!

So glad to see Triangle in this list 😁 It's probably my favorite instance of a K-Pop song sampling classical music, although for me it's less about the way it samples the piece, and more about the whole mixture of genres (plus, that song introduced me to TRAX 🤘) Also, I never realized Into the new world sampled classical music, I feel so uncultured right now 🥲 That's probably my favorite SNSD song, it never fails to bring a teary eye and a sense of nostalgia (which is weird, 'cause I wasn't into K-Pop back when it came out 👀)

So many of my favorites. I'm old enough that SMTOWN's Hope (originally H.O.T.'s), based on the Ode to Joy's portion of Beethoven's Ninth and Shinhwa's T.O.P. are also in my top 5. I totally agree with Vixx's Fantasy, and nothing will ever top RV's Feel My Rhythm. Just glad neither of you chose Blackpink's Shut Down - not saying it's the worst, but I'm with Two Set Violin on this one.

Sometimes I just like a song a lot, and the classical sample changes little about that. 2. So all in all, I can not provide a sensible ranking. 1. 1st gen did it a lot! Thanks for mentioning some of them. There is also H.O.T - Outside Castle, which literally has a full minute of introduction of a classical piece. And Moon Hee Jun (member from H.O.T) did "Generous Tree" which samples "A time for us" (I think it's the title, but it's the theme from Romeo & Juliet) There are others but that's what I remember from the top of my head
