This campervan allows us the freedom of travelling in all seasons, we actually do most of our travelling in the Autumn/Winter as I have lupus disease | SLE | We stay on campsites & caravan touring parks, Aires & wild camp out in nature. We like to walk | hike with our cocker spaniel dog "Charlie" taking in breathtaking scenery of the countryside and the coast. There is something so magical about driving through the mountains and tourist areas in a campervan. Buying local produce to take back and cook in the campervan, or stopping at an independent shop for coffee and cake helping to support the local economy. Never thought of stopping at the Green Welly, always looks rammed! Southwaite is good for the M&S. Never thought of stopping at Moffat Mill. We love the Co-Op at Broadford. Supermarket with a view! Agree with you on Cairn Lodge, now Westmorland Services, nearly included on our list, same people as Tebay.

The green welly is brilliant for a stop off, but can get busy in the silly season, the footage was filmed in July, we dropped lucky 😂 Ahh didn’t know they were the same people as Tebay. Thanks, Em & Gary 💜

We've never gone into Southwaite, it's too close to Teebay our favourite sevices. The dogs also enjoy their comfort break there. Teebays sister site on the M5 in Gloucester is always good. We also like Moffat Mill and the Coop on Skye is ok. Green Welly has always been quiet when we've been there but we tend to go that way either in May or October and would be arriving at some time between 10 am & 11 am when most services are less busy.

Very useful info Em. We like Gloucester services on the M5. Proper designated car park for north and south, and a farm shop but it's huge selling some lovely stuff, especially the cakes. Also a really good dog walk that leads onto proper walking trails.

Southwaite was great in the 70s 80s. After the the who area on both side has become a dump and I mean a absolute dump. I often used it when travelling home in those times. Even took an engine out of a Vauxhall Chevette to do the timing chain which had snapped. Still use it but just for water either way. Last used 02/09/23. FOUND IT FILTHY DIRTY, UNWELCOMING AND NOT VERY HYGEINIC. HORRIBLE PLACES. (BOTH SIDES)

Hi Stuart, that’s a shame things have changed so much. We don’t go into the services themselves, it’s more of a good place to for us to park up for 30 mins, as it’s a large area to park & not as cramped as some of the others like Tebay for example. We make our lunch in the van, use our own facilities & let the dog stretch his legs. 😃 Sad that you’ve noticed such a decline though, we should be doing things better by now. 😊 Thanks for the comment.
