Hello,,i prefer not smooth finish ang painted surface im sure more expensive design,,, I prefer rustic design all less expenisive materials , all is from nature , branches of trees, free stones of all kind ,,,crushed gravel,,,natural products from coconut bamboo and big drift woods ... Not necessary perfect finish ,,,just collect from around the area, forest and beach....it is more of personal touch... Im doing it here with my cute nipa all natural materials ....fresh and relaxing feel.... Loving from Philippines

I don’t know how you come up with all these fabulous ideas. I love these long over 30 minute renditions because it allows me to be able to sip my coffee and wake up before I have to start my day. I love all the detail that you put in these videos. I believe it’s important to have the things that you love things with luster things that are living etc. most people don’t even think about that. I could spot a mismatched dresser handle as soon as I walk in a room. I could spot the one dead leaf on a plant lol well done well appreciated and looking forward to incorporating some of these items in my own Home. I’m not sure if you have considered doing carriage House style video or maybe you have done this all ready and I missed it. I’m also looking for that carriage house look with the wrought iron like cottage feel.

I LOVE it! It’s probably one of the hardest things to pull off - mixing styles - in interior design and architecture. But when it’s done right, I think it’s spectacular. No cookie-cutter! BTW, the chevron floor is quintessential Parisian flooring.

My home is a country cottage with European influence from our travels. We have earth tones and natural elements of stone, wood, leather, sheep skin and metals. We decorate with natural items such as antlers, plant materials, feathers and wood carvings. I have fine art prints in nearly every room. It is our nest.

My favorite is coastal. Light, sun washed whites and pastels with light woods and rattans and wickers. That is how I decorated on the ocean. Now that I have moved up the mountain, but still in the country on a tropical island, I have mixed in a bit of pastoral with greens and maize colors, and landscapes and animal pics. Isn’t decorating the most fun?

Thanks for the great tips and inspiration! I've always lived by the sea here in New England, but recently moved to between the sea and the mountains here! My two bedroom/one bathroom apartment looks and feels more like a country English cottage than the average apartment and is part of a 19th century carriage house. It has all wood floors, knotty pine paneling, brick walls here and there, a fireplace and wood burning stove, big small paned picture windows that look out to a yard and garden and seven very tall pine trees! It's attached to the main house , a Victorian house built in the 1870s. I have black wrought iron hinges, but want to put in some black wrought iron latches and on my antique cupboards. My color palette is soft blues, sage green and cream with touches of pale pink and then soft reds in the fall/winter and Christmas time. I'm also a professional artist/illustrator/painter so I've set up my drawing table by the big picture window in the kitchen area so I can look out at the birds I feed and other woodland critters. My second bedroom I'm using as my music room with my piano and art/music books since I'm also a pianist /composer of a New England folk opera which has been performed publicly along with other music for piano. I love the look of pale blue or soft sage green against warm wood tones. The unique thing about my kitchen is that the sink with gooseneck faucet is set into a brick alcove and the stainless steel fridge is also set into a stone/brick alcove...very unusual! The place is in the historic district of a small city and oozes charm like English cottages in the UK!♥🌻♥
