This was a refreshing change on the tour of The Villages theme. A leisurely walk through one of the town squares showing the shops and restaurants. Nothing rushed. As someone who is considering moving to The Villages, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Watching some of your other videos now 😊

Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter are my faves. Highly recommend Amerikanos and Coastal del Mar. The energy and activity of the squares keeps me feeling young and very alive. Very happy and blessed Villager.

Yes, the old 1812 will be reopened by FMK who own Coastal Del Mar in Spanish Springs (very nice!) and a few other restaurants (Chop House, Bluefin etc) and a couple of country club restaurants. The Augustine’s 1812 owners will concentrate on the Lighthouse at Lake Sumter. Saw Jersey Boys at The Sharon - fabulous. They are building an outside bar there called Blondies. If you follow Paige Place across to Publix, walk down there past Belk there is a Nothing Bundt Cakes shop - yum yum 🤤.

Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing are my favorite squares. Not big on Brownwood as much. Katie Belle's used to be above Chicos in Spanish Springs. I taught my son how to two step there. It was very popular, kind of like an old fashioned saloon. We also liked going to movies at the Rialto (now permanently closed, they are putting in a gym) and enjoyed ice cream at Kilwin's. The Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center is in Spanish Springs. I love how they pipe music into the squares from the local radio station. It is rumored that Harold Schwartz's ashes are in that statue. Spanish Springs is the original public square in The Villages. There is a lot of "created" history written on the buildings. It was made to look old, but was built in maybe the early 1990s.

I loved Katie Belle’s. They changed it and only residents could go there. Eventually it closed.

Augustine's did close, a little while back. They will be reopening under new ownership. I can't remember who, but it's one of the restaurant groups that has several very good local restaurants. I used to love sitting outside of Augustine's and watching the bands perform on the square.

Great job I live 7 minute golf cart ride to Spanish Springs it’s where I go to Publix for shopping and my donuts needed at Dunkin donuts and yes Augustine1812 is closed I think is because they raised the prices very hight so people just stopped going I don’t know for sure it’s why I stop going. The had a very good Prime rib a 10oz for $18.95 the brought the price up to $29.95 it was a good restaurant.

Flippers has a great white pizza I don’t eat any red sauce, I ordered a side of garlic bread sticks and when he brought it to my table there were 12 big one I thought what I’m I going to with them it just me so I had bread 🥖 sticks for 4 days they were good.

Before the Farmshed it was TooJay’s. The announcement you here is done ever night before the 5-9 live music in the square it rules they go over does and don’t. It’s no longer a movie theater it’s going to be a gymnasium work out place. Where you see the construction with the fence area bySharon Morse Arts Center is going to be a big bar and entertainment area so you can enjoy out side bar and listen to the live music across the street at the square.
