We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Exactly our feeling when we had to leave after a trip to Turkey that started the Friday following 911. We were a little awed at everything happening around us as we went through London to Istanbul. How fitting Ersel saw you two off at the airport! A heart-filling way to bookend your time in Turkey. And, yes, to marvel at all the beautiful people, places, and things that would have been missed with the "original plan." And then to think of the people that have met each other through you that wouldn't have! Ben & Chesca wouldn't have found Scout, Seher would have probably exhausted herself and been forced to give up, and so many people (myself included) would never know just how much they wanted to visit Turkey! Amazing!!! And to be reunited with family and friends after two years. I can't even imagine. 🤗🤗🤗 I think Trudy received more than Tender Loving Care at the trusty garage, it was more like the automotive equivalent of Deep Tissue Massage! Wow, I bet that Garage Bill was eye watering! But, job done. I had a similar experience with my Appendix. It actually burst and Like you, I was very lucky. Better out than in as they say. Amazed that the NHS was actually open!!!

You're right the garage bill wasn't budget for and was expensive (and we got mates rates because they are friends) The NHS was all good and I was lucky to have it happen whilst back home - chris
