What a special place it is. having to talk myself out of disappearing there for a few years! haha
@davewatson33983 ай бұрын
@@KeyWestWaterman not sure I’d want full disappearance, my preference is late spring and summers. Winter isn’t much fun; dark and cold. Plus, most of the pelagics (and humans that can) move out in the winter. I guess the disappearance factor is ideal, just the living conditions not so much. Love your YT stuff 👍

He,He, Even though it's Summer, Going Under? When a Kid of 12, coming back from salmon fishing in British Columbia, the kids were swiming, I ran to the cabin and put on swim trunks, ran and jumped in. It was like when you rewind a movie reel. I Don't know how I got back on the dock so fast. My body hurt, My Dad caught the biggest one 28Lbs Coho, And Me Dumb Kid Handlining pulled to the boat a 50Lbs King salmon and the tiny swivel I tied, poped when it took a 2nd run. Almost cried, BUT Next time. That was in 1963. Don't forget to have your Salmon Smoked, Frozen plus Hallibut and shipped to the Key's 👍👍Budy of mine did bring it Frozzen all the way to Venezuela from Alaska

Nice. Sockeye is amazing, so is Coho. We flew up from FL every other year for a decade, but to the Kenai Peninsula. The first year we practiced fishing on foot with Pinks, due to their abundance, but quickly moved on to Sockeye. So amazing and we ate it fresh as we filleted it. Alaska is amazing. To have that AND our home state of FL is unbelievable.

Hey Aaron: that funny critter like a crayfish is called a "squat Lobster." I call them Scruds. We get them in my home shrimping grounds on Hood Canal in Washington State. They are probably in Oregon and North CA too. despite the name, they are more closely related to a hermit crab. One that has evolved to not need a shell. Love your videos! Cheers, Mike

Love spot prawns! We put over 1000 in the freezer each spring, ceviche is by far my favorite way to eat them. we fish them a little different. 280-320fow and 45 minute soaks on 4 pots will typically yield us 4+ limits of 80 per person here in Washington! Were native Floridians and my wife is a conch so we’ve pulled numerous limits of lobsters out of your back yard so it’s cool to see you guys up here doing the things I love to do now!

I did a trip to Alaska a few years ago with a cousin. The adventure of a lifetime! We rented a RV and drove all over, as much as we could in a 2 week period. We stopped at the spit in Homer, if you know you know, went Halibut fishing in Seward fished all over The Kenai River for Salmon and Trout. I took a lot away from this trip but the one thing that really stuck out were the Salmon going upstream and going up the waterfalls. National Geographic does not do that justice at all. Hope you guys enjoyed that experience as much as I did.

Appreciated your spearfishing basics videos last week! I hope you’ll continue as I’d love to hear you teach on breath control, buoyancy control and the mental prep you do for diving! Also suggestions/exercises we can do to improve. I can hold my breath a fairly long time sitting in my chair at home, but when you factor in swimming/diving I’d say it is less than half and I feel like a little of your mental prep would help! Thanks and looking forward to watching the new video tonight!
