The comfort level of the suspension is indeed adjustable, contrary to your comments. In the low or very low setting, there's very little suspension travel available, lending a harsher, sportier ride. If you raise the suspension to standard or higher, you have more suspension travel and, thus, a more comfortable ride. Also, autopilot is programmed to ask you to periodically confirm your hands are on the wheel by giving it a little jiggle, since the vast majority of people will let go of the wheel altogether when autopilot is engaged. It has no way of knowing your hands are on the wheel otherwise. So, complaining that it's asking you to put your hands on the wheel when your hands are already on the wheel just shows you don't really understand how to use this car's tech properly. I'm not a Tesla fanboy, per se, but it's just not that hard. A lot of your complaints are just simply ignorance, not faults of the car itself.

Just got a CPO used Mod X...the car is the best car I ever have driven. Comfort, performance, and innovation is the tops. The panorama windshield is incredible. Even with some limitation, the Falcon doors is reason enough to buy the car. Media options are so robust and the speakers flood the car with rich sound...Tune-In radio gives you access to thousands of worldwide stations, and my very best is commercial free Paradis Radio. The second-row bucket seats are as comfortable as the front seats..the three-row is reserved for the kids and they love them. Always drive with auto-pilot give me the extra security filling in the gaps of human distraction. Thank you TSLA for setting the standard for EVs, and ICEVs!

A few notes to correct your many mis-statements: 0:19 The 100D is not "mid range" it's a 100kWh battery which is the largest battery Tesla makes. While it's not Performance it's still not "mid range". 4:50 The noise associated with the A/C is comparable if not more quiet than that on a gasoline vehicle. The excessive noise you mention must have actually been the fans cooling the batteries while charging on such a hot day. 7:35 You can always use summon and exit the vehicle outside of the parking space. Also, I'd much rather have an issue with height when exiting the vehicle than space horizontally and worry about bumping another vehicle. As for the speed while it doesn't slam it's very fast for what all the door does when opening/closing. It uses MULTIPLE sensor to ensure safety to you AND the vehicle. As for the "solid, reassuring clunk" the doors last MUCH longer closing slowly while latching than slamming. It's unnecessary for them to need to slam closed for you to be assured that the door is closed. 7:55 I don't understand how you're having difficulty entering the back row of the vehicle. The open doorway is MUCH larger than that of a similar mid-size SUV/crossover. This vehicle is SO MUCH EASIER to get into the rear seats than anything else similar. 10:20 "It doesn't have the solid reassuring composure...", "...the firmness isn't adjustable..." While you cannot activate shock valving like a Range Rover the firmness is set by the ride height. The lowest setting is the softest ride/lowest spring rate, highest setting is your bumpiest ride/highest spring rate. 10:50 AppleCar Play is not something to be upset about. Focus on your driving. The user software Tesla has designed far outperforms that of any Mercedes or BMW. It truly doesn't need AppleCar Play added to the mix. 12:00 While you may have your hands on the steering wheel you do have to give a slight force so the vehicle knows you are awake and alert. Also, while full autonomous driving has not been approved by NHTSA and local government Tesla does require Autopilot to be a hands on experience, otherwise that insinuates it is full self driving. When full autonomous driving is available that will change. Cadillac Super Cruise will be the same way until full autonomous driving is legal. While the video is named "Our Week With in the Tesla Model X" it seems like you truly didn't do your research and much of this review is opinion rather than fact.
@hiperfin

@jimmyfly No. I've watched each part mentioned multiple times. He believes that because it is not the Performance edition that its range is effected. This is the 100D which is the largest battery currently available for the Model X which is EPA rated at 295 miles. The P100D version has an EPA rating of 289 miles of range. Had this been about vehicle size he would not have gone into discussing Ludicrous mode or that this was above the 75D.

OMG thank you, haha! You literally pointed out every little thing I was thinking. He picks the vehicle apart as if isn't even comparing it to a standard vehicle. The P100D actually has LOWER range than the 100D. The sound of a car running is WAY louder than the cooling fans in a Tesla. I can't imagine the height of the back doors would ever be a problem. If there is not enough space to open, it's probably even more difficult in a standard car door. Plus you LITERALLY have to bend over to get into a standard car. I can't see how ducking a tiny bit would be an issue. Why on earth is the sound of the door closing an issue for him??? If the door properly closes, why the fuck does it matter if it slams or not?? I guarantee that door will hold you in better than any other vehicle. The rear seats are way easier to get into than SUV's that are twice the size! Like I have no idea what he is complaining about. He complains like it isn't already better than most vehicles.

11:40 You don't need android auto or Carplay. If you on the bleeding edge of car technology, you don't want to relay on Android and Apple to make updates every weeks and add new features on their car integration. Technically Tesla computer can do or more vs the Android auto and Apple carplay.

Nice review, but really? Apple Car Play? It's okay, I suppose, but is a toy compared to Tesla's system. Tesla's central screen is easy to use, especially with the scroll wheels and voice-commands. Why would you use your phone for podcasts or music when you have it available in the Tesla itself? Plus, you can request any song or podcast in creation with the internet-connected voice command and have it stream on the car's audio system - and your requests don't have to be on your phone. The only thing you don't get are pop-up text messages - which in my opinion is a godsend. I prefer to be the master of my phone, not the other way around. It's probably a software update away anyway with Tesla's blu-tooth functionality, for those that like living via texts. Surprised you didn't note the extra storage compartment in the back, not to mention the "frunk." And Autopilot. Model X will be my next car!
@sziehr
@sziehr 6 жыл бұрын
So tesla has a long way to go with the integration he is right. I can not have it read me my texts and I can not text with the voice aide. That being said it is just software they could added these functions easy. They could also offer car play / android auto in a dockable screen. I doubt they do that since both require you give over full control of the audio system and Tesla has a hard enough time keeping that working right now in V9

At first I thought "I don't care about Apple Car Play because I don't have an Apple". But then I realized that 85% of the market doesn't have an iPhone anyway so why the big fuss? And besides: text messages? What is this, 1990 messaging they want their texts back?
@pkoya341

Widdermaker I 100% agree with you in that the Tesla system is miles better but after getting a Model S I realized that I cant even browse my phone's up next over bluetooth which many cars can do. Yes it can play any song you want but what if you listen to music in other languages or audio books? Or want to listen to a series of songs in order. Fortunately this is an easy software fix that I hope Tesla adds integration through their own system as it would look much better. CarPlay/Android Auto would look out of place.

I don't own a Model X, but I do own a Model 3 Performance. While it is easily, hands down, the most technologically advanced car i've ever owned in almost all respects, it does fall short with phone integration. My previous car - a 2017 Chevrolet Volt - integrated with the phone over bluetooth much better, even without using Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. If I _was_ using Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, the Volt would read text and FB messages it received to me while I was driving, and with Android Auto at least (and I suspect Apple CarPlay as well), it would let me reply to them with only my voice. Also, while the Tesla entertainment options wrt audio aren't bad - it will let me play almost any song or podcast I ask for - it won't let me play an entire album, nor an audiobook. Plus, Android Auto allows developers like me to write apps that will run in the car, albeit with limited functionality so as not to make driving unsafe. So far, Tesla offers nothing like this. In short, while Tesla's mapping and navigation are great and arguably superior to that provided by Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, Android Auto / Apple CarPlay do far more than just mapping and navigation, and it is in these additional areas where Tesla's solution really comes up short. V9 added a lot of cool things to my Model 3 Performance, but i'm still waiting for the software update that will finally bring it's phone integration up to par.

@RespectfullyCurious
@RespectfullyCurious 6 жыл бұрын
I'm not going to lie, I live in Chicago and the lack of superchargers availability is the main reason I haven't pulled the trigger on a model 3. In the graphic at 2:15 you can see that HUGE gap where there is not charging stations. I just happen to live in the middle of it. If I lived where the cluster of chargers are near downtown, owning a car wouldn't be practical either due to how expensive buy/renting in that area is and how much traffic there is. I work near the cluster of charging stations but the price of parking for one day heavily outweighs the point of having free/cheap charging.

The way it detects your hands on the wheel is by a bit of torque on the wheel. So, if you are getting those warnings, let one of your hands rest a bit more to apply a little torque to the wheel and then you'll be fine. How many times does one run to the store for milk and park right up front and open the BACK doors? How many people are going to get milk? And if you drive any $100k vehicle to the store, you will get looks. Besides, Tesla owners seem to enjoy the attention and the chance to talk about electric vehicles. It never ceases to amaze me that no matter how much multi-tasking a Tesla MX can do, someone points at one feature that disappoints. If you want car play, buy a Chevy. If you want Auto pilot in a vehicle that outperforms race cars time and again, holds more people and cargo than a Tahoe SUV, is safer than any minivan, is a camper, is very ecofriendly, is all electric, can be “filled” at home, has no engine to maintain, no belts, no hoses, can tow 5000 pounds, etc, etc. get an X. How much would you pay for the other vehicles that do all that? You would need at least four vehicles to do that at a cost of ???
@bnicklow359
@bnicklow359 6 жыл бұрын
Holds more cargo and people than a Tahoe? Is a camper? Clearly you have not seen a real SUV because this in not one, it is a tall car with a half ass 3rd row. This thing is far from multi tasking, a Ford flex has more versatility and I can buy one used put gas and oil in it for the better part of a decade before having a Tesla would pay off. I have an expedition and I can put 8' sheets of plywood in it, or 8 adults more than comfortably and still have room for suit cases. The thing drinks gas like a sorority girl with tequila at a frat party but there is no alternative, and certainly not one that most people can afford. Hopefully some one from Tesla reads this because I would be all in for buying one if it could replace my current family wagon, here are a few tips while your at it. Get rid of all the gimmicky tech BS, parking sensors work just fine i don't need to know the shape of the cars bumper on the other side of the parking spot. Stop with all the stupid door handle and and falcon door BS. Go back to the way cars used to be ordered and have real options. If i want a 100Kwh batt with the performance controller but no autopilot, navigation, and more cameras than the white house security system I should be able to get that.

It does have more cargo room(18cf) and can tow almost twice as much, but it really only seats 7. At 17 mpg, constant maintenance and $76000, I don’t see the value. Fords depreciate rather quickly, spend a lot of time in the shop and for $20k more I get resale value, autopilot, Falcon wings, AI that works, free charging and bells and whistles. When I was in my bus (aka the Saf-T liner c2), I saw a TESLA ROADSTER 2.0, and when i was on a street view on FM423, there was this Tesla, I don't know either it is a Model S, or a Model X.

It becomes more and more evident that a regular car guy is nowhere near competent enough to properly review technological marvel like Tesla product. The ignorance about security issues surrounding external app integration, actually complaining about the inferior Apple car play unavailability when Tesla solution is entirely integrated, the fact autopilot is a general solution that can be used anywhere, the battery management algorithm, the best battery technology, the supercharger network and so many other Tesla exclusive advantages.

reviewr also said doors felt cheap? something about not making a thud sound when closed? Tesla is thee #1 safest vehicle. Each wing door on the X weighs over 150 lbs. It's the mechanism that is so strong and precise, that when the falcon doors open / close it appears effortless, lightwieght. The soft close method doesnt rely on momentum or slamming shut of doors!

But the range assumes 65 degrees F and flat road. Hotter or colder and hills, and you're not going to get anything NEAR that.

lol I understand being used to apple car play and then not having it. But you didn't mention that Tesla's don't need apple's car play. They have their own car play that works just fine. Tell the radio what to play and it plays it. Tell navigation where you want to go and it gets you there AND finds chargers on the way. The only thing you can't do is voice to text, which I argue is a safety hazard anyway. Also, how often do you park in garages low enough to not allow falcon wing door usage versus the number of times you park in tight spaces and can't open a regular door? Haha okay I'm done I swear. Ordered my Model 3 weeks ago. Can't wait for delivery. :)

That rear spoiler should really be adjustable...Every time I see this model I think the driver is showing off because it can be raised at any speed...not particularly well finished space if it's always in that deployed position...just sayin'....
