Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 7th tier of English football, the Isthmian League North. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. In 2023 we won the Isthmian League North and will now play in the Isthmian Premier!
We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 3rd tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, after they also won their league in 2023. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams, an inclusive team and a walking football team...plus our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. We had 3 promotions in 4/5 seasons that’s unbelievable and we should be happy cause even if we lose we still play beautiful football and even if we won’t win another game this year cause we are pretty much safe from relegation what else can u demand from a newly promoted side? I don't reply to a lot of comments, but most people are not complaining, also the main complaints was with the match we lost 5-0 in, which I also complained, mainly because we played bad in the match. If the boys play well, but we are defeated I am still happy with the performance, but there is nothing worse than a terrible performance. Anyone else compalining or saying anything about Dev's out or promotion are not proper fans in my eyes, because they don't understand how hard it is to be here.

Even though we didn’t get the result we wanted, Hashtag played very well that match. That left flank of Nathan Smith and Sak was great, wonderful performance from those two. Loved the pressing as well, and what a goal from Camilo! Unfortunate to concede 2 great goals and one very unlucky one. Keep playing like that and the results will come though

I remember watching Chris Whelpdale when I had a season ticket for Peterborough United. Always been a good player with tons of football league experience. This was 5+ years before Hashtag were even founded and now we're playing against him in the league. Shows the progress of the tags and the level were now at!

I'm in the same boat as the majority of people who commented before. I mean no harm but it´s factual to point out the defense has been underperforming recently. Obviously, Ted's absence would always be noted but even other defenders had stepped down their form. Also is important to have in mind the current injuries and remember that a full healthy squad may be a completely different story. Either way, they all go all out every game and for that I commend them. There are still lots of games to be played so things may turn around for the better.

it’s gonna be tough for almost any keeper to follow up Ted, Striz is having decent games but the defense is letting him down so many times the opposition just runs past them, and on set pieces not being able to clear right away just keeps the ball in a dangerous area

The more they climb, the bigger the jump in quality. There’s no way they should be expected to be steamrolling teams for now. Mid table is fair.

@@LingsKazemiro yes exactly football is a results business which is why using your exact analogy it would be a good result because staying in this division after 3 promotions in 5 years is still a good achievement. Not only stay in the division, but potentially finishing top half of the table. There is is a big jump in quality between the first league Hashtag were in and this one. Imagine a side moving from football league 2 into the championship. Would you say its failure if that team only finished a point above relegation? Would you be unhappy in that situation? Probably not. There are even question marks as to whether Hashtag can afford to get promoted since the costs involved in getting promoted go up pretty much exponentially each promotion - go and watch Spencer's video on his channel where he breaks this down. This is not football manager, this is real football and its incredibly difficult to blitz through the English football pyramid against other teams with substantially bigger budgets, actual stadiums they own and better players. Put simply, what Hashtag are continuing to achieve is commendable and fans should recognize that more rather than slate the team for losing a few games., with some comments such as this one borderline insinuating Devs gets the sack. Its embarrassing

@@magictrades159 thanks for sane reply - that makes total sense and i agree with you for the most part. in the grand scheme of things i would be happy to stay in a superior league with the jump in quality that entails, definitely. My comment was in reply to the 1st comment - when there is a break in form such as the current one, it is normal that fans are a bit down with these results (as is the team, i'm sure) and comment on it, even though the team is actually doing well in the table and how well they did to get where they are now! as for Devs i think that is a non-issue. Not with taking into account the situation with the mended defense, back-up back-up GK and all the injuries (not even to mention all the good he's done to the club). I do feel (and this is my opinion only, of course) that his talks might not be hitting the chord they need with the players, that's all. It's a long season, and they might well be picking up a player or 2 to turn this around! and i really hope they do - i'm a tags fan as much as anyone here!

How can you expect a newly promoted team to do the same thing it's been doing for the last 4/5 seasons? This is a high level of football and there are some very good players at every club in the league from what I've seen. Chris Whelpdale played in League one and League two and there a players similar to him at every club at this level. We have to have some perspective as fans and given how open Hashtag are as a club surely we should understand that they are doing their best every game. The 5-0 loss was a disappointing result but I can tell you that no one will feel that more than the players. The reactions in games have been unbelievable and to be safe at this stage in the season is a credit to the entire club. UP THE TAGS!!

@@Providenza Yea they do buy new players. The higher up the divisions you go the more difficult it is to get those players. The quality increases and it takes time to catch up. I’m well aware that it’s not the same side but that doesn’t mean that the step up isn’t going to be big! You can also lose players at any point in the season so consistency is hard to come by.

Unlucky in the result, the lad that scored the 3rd was shown inside too many times and Striz wasn't being protected. He kept getting shown onto his right foot, knowing he can produce, eventually he wasn't going to score and he did. Sak and Pedro looked dangerous going forward which is nice to see! Disappointing result but Sak has looked outstanding. Earlier in the season he appeared to give up on the play a lot if something went wrong and seemed to have a bit of a bad attitude but these past few games it seems he's stepped upped with his attitude and taking charge of the attack with his ability, which has been great lately.

Stamps sounded clueless saying Nathan Smith was consistent this game… he’s been decent most of the season but in this game, at fault for the first goal taking too long to play the pass / clear the ball and didn’t recover after losing it, and at fault for the second goal giving a free kick away unnecessarily. Good job he got a goal to half rectify it, but overall a poor performance (poor cross 66th minute and 84th minute when should be doing more with possession). Sak Hassan looks above this level, wouldn’t be surprised to see him move up at some point. Harry Haysom the same. At least it looked like everyone put in some effort this week. Up the tags

Please tell me there's a PK mic'd up on the field in the works! Tough loss, though the effort was absolutely there! It was most apparent how composed our attack was today.. no panicking, rushing. Both goals were had very composed finished after a swift change in possession. Well, it's obviously not great that we haven't picked up points in the last few, but I can see a lot to be optimistic about. I reckon that Pedro, Sak, Nathan, Matty and Sam put in performances that would be enough to get the W in most matches, but the Lewes players' finishing (and a little bit of luck maybe) left us without. If they keep this up, we will definitely be getting more points on the board soon enough. We're still in a great league position, in a really tough league. I'm getting a bit tired of some of the negative comments (like probably so many of us are) lately. Seems like some viewers expect every player that's coming into the team to just hit form immediately and never make a mistake. These aren't highly paid, seasoned pros. They're part time players, some of whom have had very little experience and are still developing. Give them time to grow into better footballers and they'll repay us down the line. We've got injuries and suspensions to cover and we need these guys right now. Getting on their case certainly won't help them. Get behind them and stop moaning. Keep it up boys! The results will come.

I have to say I did leave a slightly harsh comment on the last video about the new goalkeeper. He had definitely showed his quality in this game and that he's settled in more. My only issue would be sometimes the defence panics a little and doesn't stay focused to cover everything and sometimes people attacking rush things when they don't need to and need to take a few seconds to make decisions. Generally speaking though I can see the hard work and improvements and this team have been great in recent time and I know you can get back there. Onwards and upwards

To be honest strizovic is not good enough for this level. If u have goalkeeper who is scared of every cross that comes in and never and i mean never comes of his line to help his defenders than it is just not enough. But also a good extra centreback would be welcome.

I think it’s important to keep in mind how short handed we are right now. Responses to early goals have been promising but need to not have errors in the defense as we will be punished at this level in a way we weren’t previously. Nevertheless up the tags!

@HashtagUnited of course, but truly KZbin comments isn't much of a place for a footballer to get constructive criticism from anyways. The comments here are the fans, venting frustration and celebrating the achievements. Take the good with the bad, but stay the course and work hard and you'll be respected none the less. UP THE TAGS
