Begin by gently bracing the detached cornice, pressing so that it contacts with the wall. Starting on the left side of the sagging cornice, drill holes in the thickest part of the cornice where you know there's a wall stud, about every 12" if possible. Then drill a long screw through the cornice into the stud, until it snugs the saging plaster firmly into place (drill the screw deep enough so the head is below the plaster surface). The key is to avoid further damaging the plaster in the process. Once stationary, fill the hole with plaster, let dry, then sand.

I’ve been anxious for you to post another video. Paris is a great place to celebrate a birthday, how nice for your girls. The petite salon won’t be traditional but, that’s alright. The color combination looks very nice and is an update, more modern in its looks. I’m sure Lincoln is happy to be out of his sling, just take it slow so as to allow the healing to continue. Our trip to France next month will not include spending any real time in Paris, a bit disappointing. But, to be in Brittany, enjoying family is always special although, never long enough. I love this region. ❤🇫🇷

My son and daughter were born 13 months apart in May and June - then my grand kids were born 13 months apart in the same months. So I laugh when you spoke about your daughters birthdays, your humor doubled my amusement. Using dark colours is always a bold move - I like the black! I would add gold to the trim on and around the doors. I think that would look elegant. I am getting excited to see all the chateau owners gardens because I used to be an avid gardener before losing the ability to do my own. I think France has a bit of a longer season than in Canada. With that said, burying Lincoln in the garden may be pushing the boundaries of gardening. LOL 🤣 Have a great week ahead.

I am old enough to remember the birth of Justin Trudeau when his father Pierre Trudeau was prime minister way back in the 1970s. Justin and his younger brother Sasha were both born on Christmas day two years apart. I believe that their mother said that she was relieved when her third son was born in October. She was starting to feel a bit well, freakish.😄

Hubs and I still live stateside and don't quite have a chateau but we DO own a 103 year old inherited familial home we spend a LOT of time up keeping! Oak is good candidate for shou sugi ban. You get a large propane torch and burn the surface of the wood, then apply linseed oil. It’s a century-old technique used in Japan for buildings. It protects against insect infestation and rot. Best of all, you won’t be scraping peeling paint every year! And it looks wonderful!

Great to hear that Lincoln's shoulder is coming around - hopefully by summer it will feel normal again. Very cool that both daughters have the same birthday at least now for mom and dad 😉, but down the road, as adults, it may be a way of lifelong bonding (not that they aren't bonded now but as each of their lives grow independently - it will always be 'theirs'). I love the colour you are using on the walls! The doors look very striking and I am sure you are very happy with them. My sister and I were born 2 years and 2 days apart!! Our birthdays are in January, either side of Australia Day (Jan 26th) mine first, then hers. When we were young, we were always having a "joint" celebration on Australia Day for our birthday, I was 18 and had moved away to University before I got my own birthday celebration (friends took me out to my favourite lobster restaurant) But I do think fondly of those joint birthdays these days.
