If you’re able to collect some of your grass cuttings, they make a most wonderful mulch to use in the garden beds. It’s free, cuts the weed population down and dry to a lovely golden color. It’s easy to sprinkle around the plants and helps to retain moisture. Bravo for your hard won work and the lovely outcomes of renovation ❤

Did Lincoln already have all the reno skills? What he accomplishes on his own never ceases to amaze me. And his patience is astounding for a man, unless of course we don’t see the real Lincoln! My husband would’ve run out of foul language in the first ten minutes of moving there. Were your daughters excited to move and how have they adjusted? The grounds of your property are very beautiful. Americans are so far behind appreciating and conserving the glorious beauty of nature. I had the pleasure of touring in Europe after college graduation and in a little village of stone houses and everything pretty much paved with stones, at an intersection of streets someone had placed a solitary pot of red geraniums. For me, it was a first noticeable appreciation of beauty for the public and I was so impressed. We didn’t do that in America back then. Thankfully we do now, but we still have a long way to go to be as appreciative as Europeans are and we still need to learn to love nature and not see it as a problem to be solved or destroyed.

Do your daughters do Anything to help with the upkeep of the grounds? I grew up with 7 sisters and we all learned how to weed, mow and prune. Helped to have that knowledge when we got our own properties.

What a paradise you continue to create! -Actually, I was wondering if your daughters enjoy your property..? It’s so beautiful, I imagine all the ways I’d use it as a teen! (As an adult!) Some of my best memories were reading and building, experimenting and painting, napping, tenting, swinging, planting and climbing on the yard at my grandparent’s home. I hope they’ve come up with their own ways to use their home park!
