i cried like a baby watching this one, you can feel the love and dedication he has for his family, and it honestly blows my mind away with the amount of selflessness and care he is able to pour into his family, i would love to tell him how proud we all are of him, of how he has done such great job as a father and i am so so grateful he chose to continue to move forward, and never give up, truly a dad for life, sending all the love to you and your family

I can’t imagine the level of maturity that 17 year old has. There’s absolutely no bitterness in this family for when the mother walked out of their lives. Infact, you can sense the calm, happiness, peace and serenity of this family that even two dysfunctional parents together can hardly even achieve.

I burst out crying when I saw how similar my family is with Wayne's. My dad raised me the eldest daughter (24) and my two sisters, youngest is 20 as a single father since I was in primary 2. I used to wish I can follow my mother instead. As a little girl, a mother was everything to me. I have always felt that my family is broken and when I was younger I blame my father a lot for a lot of things mainly his lack of understanding. His pressure in my studies to not have people looked down on us for not having a mother and the many screaming arguments. The financial issues make us realise how important money is but we never went on any trips after my parents divorced. But as I grow up, I realise my dad isn't perfect he is only human and a man who have no idea how to raises 3 girls all by himself but he is constantly trying his best and giving his best to us.. Looking back I can agree I wouldn't turn out this well if my dad hadn't raised me. Now all I want is to earn enough money to take him places he always wanted to go but can't because he put us first. Thank you for sharing. You let me see a part of my dad that I didn't know existed.

Not OGS making me cry on a Friday morning 😅 Thoroughly enjoyed this interview. Thank you Wayne & son for sharing so deeply & authentically about their experiences. Kudos to Wayne for being alive, staying strong for your children. You are good enough. And we certainly need more parents like you in our society. Wishing you and your family good health and happiness! To the other commenters who were wondering what happened to the ex-wife, why she left, if he remarried - you guys completely missed the point of this interview. Marriages break down for many reasons. As outsiders, we will not know what went on. But this is a video about a father’s love for his children.

Wow..just wow. I was tearing up throughout the video. I can’t even imagine what it’s like raising 4 children all alone, especially when they’re young. A lot of children of single parents have a difficult time due to the lack of emotional and physical support from the other parent, but seeing his son being so expressive and confident made me really happy. I’m very glad Wayne was able to fight his urges to end his life and that he was able to raise his children well. I wish him and his family nothing but the best in life! Lots of love to them ❤️

The fact that both father and son took this interview so boldy showed that they have overcome all obstacles on what others think of them. their love for each other is beyond more than what a typical Singaporean is afraid of. Even a complete 2parent home will not have courage like yours to be interviewed. Thank you for sharing, inspiring us, to all single parent not to give up but look forward. Times will be tough, days will be long, when you think you overcome , something else comes along. Thats life. Don't give up on yourself. Its like how he tell his son who did not do well in his studies, its just a small thing in life. Such a simple statement but his son appreciates it. God bless.

Our mom left our family, my dad, and 4 of us siblings when I was 9. my dad was not good husband, but my mom left her own 4 kids. My dad wasn’t like this gentleman and got emotional/depressed/not stable. It was a long road of traumas for us all 4 siblings. Although we reunited with our mom eventually, chaos continued through out our childhood. Mom repeatedly left us a few more time, though our my childhood. And dad was never the same with his business partner stole all his business, and he never be a father figure like he used to us anymore. Our childhood continued with repeated abandonments, chaos, and traumas… all of us siblings never really recover as we became adults. I was the lucky one to have a stable career, while my siblings have suffer more, even thought they are so smart or smarter then me. As expected, All of us have extreme challenges in relationships, as we never have a stable role models and understanding of self love , and we brought unresolved childhood traumas into our relationships. All these are formulas for disastrous relationships and life. Took me and us years to figure out and untangle lives, instead of living, striving , growing our lives.

I'm really sorry to hear your story, abandonment is a serious problem for any child's self-esteem. But know that they are them and you are you, their actions doesn't define you. Plus they are also human and are capable of making big mistakes, and in fact many adults ain't good parents or they didn't know how to be.

I was raised by my dad with the help of my aunties since i was 4. My dad would always pick me up at night and a few years ago I found out he has been in school part time so that he can earn higher to raise me alone. I start being independent at 6, coming home from school and buying food by myself so my dad didn’t have to worry much about me. My dad would always instruct me to always come back home straight from school and wait for him to come home. He told me he has always felt guilty I don’t really have anyone else to play with so he got me pets so I don’t feel lonely. And yet through all the hardships he had of raising me alone, he is still so supportive of all the things I want to accomplish. I know I wasn’t the easiest daughter to raise.

Wayne, I have so admiration for u as a single parent of 4 kids. I can imagine how tough it has been for u the day u had to single handedly bring up 4 young children. Thank GOD u didn’t end it all those few times. U have done such an amazing and wonderful job of looking after them. Elliot is such a fine example of how well u have brought him up. There are not many young teenagers like him who will make their dad proud. I can see how much he knows that you love him and his siblings. All the sacrifices and hard work you put in made them all worthwhile. Keep up the good work that u have been doing! Your children will never forget how much u have done for them and they will always be proud of u. GOD bless you and your family. 😊

Sheesh! Respect! We are a family of 3. Our little one is already taking up all our time and I really even comprehend how he could manage 4 alone! I have the utmost respect for this father.

You are amazing to be a dad on your own. Looks like you have done a great job solely on your own. Hope your kids appreciate it and return the love and care which you rightly deserved. Well done and am sure your kids are proud of you as their dad as you did not give up on them so they must cherish you whole heartedly. God bless you and kids 🙏
